MN poll: chimp +3, Nader at 5% (???), but good internals

* 47%, Kerry 44%, Nader 5%, Badnarik 1%

Independents prefer Kerry but many of them are voting for Nader, according to this poll.
The sample is 42% repug, 40% democrat, 18% independent. This seems to be a repug oversample, but I don't know what the breakdown was in recent elections.

3. lots of people will vote nader in a poll
but when it comes right down to it, will not be able to make that vote when the future of the world actually rides on it. I have faith in true progressives.

4. That makes no sense
Serious folks, this poll makes no sense. I wouldn't worry about it, just noise.

Nader 5%? No way. They are fiercely independent in Minnesota. It will be close, but Kerry 52-47 I bet in the end.

No nader factor this year. If u vote for Nader, you weren't going to vote anyway. Maybe those people will get ot the poll motivated by nader then say, "what the f" and go Kerry.

5. Minnesota Public Radio reported two new polls in MN today. The other
one had Kerry up 49% to 42%.

Sorry, I don't have a link.

7. I think you're referring to this poll

http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=70943

Kerry 49 - * 42

Dems are slightly oversampled in this poll (41% dems 32% repugs), while repugs are oversampled in the other poll (42% repugs 40% dems)

6. MN, IA and WI have become a real pain in the ass
all 3 went Dukakis in 1988. I guess the demographics or phychographics are changing in these places.

9. Nader is not getting 5% in Minnesota--that is as well or better
than he did in '00, and in no state will he do as well or better than he did in '00
