Drudge: WASH TIMES has new info on missing weapons...
...and, considering the sources involved here, you can probably guess what it is. GERTZ // THURSDAY // WASH TIMES: Russian special forces troops moved many of Saddam Hussein's weapons and related goods out of Iraq and into Syria in the weeks before the March 2003 U.S. military operation, The Washington Times has learned. John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, “almost certainly” removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad.

Isn't that crazy! The WASHINGTON TIMES learns about new information that helps Bush. And the first to report on it is MATT DRUDGE.

Hey, remember when the WASHINGTON TIMES had that story on Kerry's meeting with not-quite the whole security council? Which was first reported on RIGHT-WING BLOGS? Me too.

28. No, actually it was Klingons
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 09:59 PM by baltodemvet
They came at noon using cloaking technology and took the explosives which as everybody know are the main ingredient in a punch-like drink traditionally served at Kilingon baby showers.

2. So... we're attacking Russia now?
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 09:21 PM by FlashHarry
What happened to Putin's vaunted soul?

And another thing: with all the satellites and other surveillance going on prior to the war--when the WH was looking for any excuse to attack--why the hell couldn't they see 380 tons of freakin munitions being moved into Syria?

Sorry--it doesn't compute.

23. That was just plain nutty
Winter storm -in the South? In October?
Hell, we rarely get our first snowfall before January.
We might get a dusting on Christmas - but October?
AND, if it does snow, then I'm blaming the Bush environmental "plan" for that fluke of nature! :D

8. Oooh Ooooh! I Got A BELIEF Too About What I Think Happened To the Weapons!
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 09:24 PM by Beetwasher
I wonder if the WT will quote me too!

I belive that extra-dimensional time travelling aliens from Fglrsnp transported the weapons through a space-time rift to use them to mine adamantite that's buried deep in crust of the 8th moon of the fourth planet in their system. The adamantite will be used to build giant, indestructible dildos that they plan to use as offerings for their new god, Bill O'Reilly.

How'd I do?

10. This is such bullshit!
You'd either have to be a moron and a Freeptard to believe that Russians could move 380 TONS of explosives without our intelligence services catching wind. Indeed, with our satellite capabilities, or intelligence services would have known the minute a Russian truck backed up to the ammo dump. And like Putin and the Russians would risk alienating the US.

This really is comical.

19. What Russian trucks? Why Russian trucks? And why would Russia do it
instead of Saddam doing it himself? Fact is, the only reason Russia is in this made up story is to explain why no Iraqi can be found who witnessed this extraordinary, four thousand truck load convoy across eight hours of Iraq to a foreign country.

12. Um. Why would lSaddam use Russian troops to truck explosives?
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 09:28 PM by Inland
He wouldn't. But an idiot trying to make a fake story would have to explain why the US can't come up with a single Iraqi witness to four thousand truck loads driven ten hours to Syria. So they do it by making the perps some russians who, of course, can't ever be located. What crap.

13. Putin supports Bush because he is an idiot. The last thing
Putin wants to see is a smart US President. Iran and Syria love him for the same reason. They couldn't turn as many Moslems against the West if they tried.

How much longer must I be subjected to these "headlines" from Drudge being tossed into this forum like so much vomit.

Why, oh lord, do so many bother to read Drudge? Why, oh lord, do they take him seriously enough to pollute the clean waters with his filth? Why, oh lord, why?

Christ, I wish this story had a sliver of truth to it. An ammo dump that we were monitoring and we just sat back and let the Russians raid it? We couldn't be lucky enough for this to make the mainstream press.

"The Russians brought in, just before the war got started, a whole series of military units," Mr. Shaw said. "Their main job was to shred all evidence of any of the contractual arrangements they had with the Iraqis. The others were transportation units."

27. Russian special forces troops moved many of Saddam
sounds to me like they absolutely did from this statement for them to go on to say, that they believe this is what happened. how do you put a story together saying it was done,..........i am guessing

wonder how russia feels about this. now as they spin it in this direction, a poster lynndem? has a document saying beginning of apr another unit went thru this camp and saw these explosives adn the boxes and viles. so though they are spinning the story, there is this truth that isnt being said out loud
