Could Hawaii polls be a Rove diversion? |
|
The two polls I've seen that show Bush suddenly pulling even with Kerry are from Strategic Vision and a group called Ward Research. I don't like to just discount polls whose results I don't like but, well... these are not exactly household names in the world of polling.
I'm just wondering if Rove would commission a couple polls that favor Bush in Hawaii in order to make Kerry's camp say "what the fuck" and drop some of their precious resources out there. Lord knows Rove's pulled crazier stunts.

2. It wouldn't surprise me |
|
In 2000 the Bush noise machine was saying that California was in play.

3. I'm sure the Kerry people |

pay far more attention to their own internal polls than to third party data.

4. Team Kerry has their own pollsters. |
|
Rove couldn't pull them off their game plan unless their polls were showing the same weirdness.

7. Rigging the polls would be the simplest thing in the world |
|
It's simply a matter of oversampling the Repub votes, and hinting that doing future business with the GOP hangs in the balance. Pollsters are not charities--they rely on being paid for their services.
Tonight, I heard Howard Fineman say that all of the blue states were in play whereas the only red state Kerry had a chance of taking was Ohio. That's the meme, all right--weapons of mass demoralization.
