You know he's got something up his sleeve. He's said so himself.

Any guesses what he'll try? He's a slimy bast*rd.

2. They are practically forcing repukes to vote
Their big trick this season is threefold:

1. They have a serious top-down GOTV structure vs our very loose GOTV structure. They have released info on what they are doing in swing states: they are knocking on doors of registered Republicans in EVERY district of the swing states and pressuring them to get driven to the polls.

2. They are trying to disenfranchise just enough Dem votes to capture just the right number of swing states.

3. They are going to accuse us of voter fraud in every state.

I don't see an "October Surprise" from Rove. It is too late. Most people have decided and have tuned out the MSM anyway. I think their strategy is what I just outlined (and they have released this info).

7. There is still time for a big surprise
Take a look at the graphic on the NYT under Public Opinion: Job Approval Rating. Hover your cursor the individual rows to view the dates.
http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/politics/2004_ELECTIONGUIDE_GRAPHIC/

You'll see that there is consistently a big boost in W's approval rating after each major positive event, like Sadaam being found. All he needs one fear-instilling event at home, or one minor-to-medium victory.

I think there is still time for a couple of viable options. I think "finding" OBL is still a real option. The other option is an election day "event", probably at a voting location in hte mid-west, that will scare enough people away from the booths.

I won't put anything past Cheney and Rove. These guys play for keeps.

3. The dirtiest: Stealing it. Again.
I will not be a bit surprised.

Anyone who's heard of the problems they've already been having (did you see Jon Stewart last night?) will not be surprised, either.

4. If Bush* is too far behind for the vote stealing...
...Rove will stage a "terrist" attack on Washington DC for November 1 or 2. Martial law will be declared and the elections will be postponed.

Bet me.

6. The election will be tied up in litigation.
It has worked for Rove before. He isn't going to let Dubya concede. It could be a landslide for Kerry and he would still contest it.

I wonder if the polls we see today factor in the Diebold BBV factor? The one where Kerry "shares" his votes with Bush.

8. Vote suppression in OH and FL (among other places). They stick with the
classics. Instead of dudes with white hoods and torches and nooses riding around on horses, they have lawyers. Although they might bust out some of the hooded guys too.

9. The 380 tons explosives was the last dirty trick from B*stard Rove
They knew all along that the explosives were gone when the
101st Airborne arrived. They let Kerry pounce on it and let
it fester for 3 days, then today Rove puppet * answered back.

10. Rove never depends on any one 'trick'
Rather, he has a whole bunch of them, and uses them all. Outright voter suppression. Challenging Dem votes. Counting only those absentee ballots (i.e. military) that are likely to be heavily weighted towards Shrub, while challenging any others. Throwing out ballots from heavily Dem locales. Stuffing ballot boxes. Fixing electronic voting machines. Telling vicious lies about Kerry and other Dem candidates. Telling other lies about Shrub to make him look good -- and simultaneously like a 'reasonable moderate' as well as appealing to the fundie right-wing base.

And if that's not enough, they take it to court and tie up the election until it ends up in the SCOTUS hands again.

I pray only that the margin of victory for Kerry is too big to cheat.

11. He must be really pissed right now
About three versions of GOP spin have been shot down by the media regarding Al Qaqaa and his "terror tape" was debunked in hours before it could get any play. I'm sure this week's strangely consistent fact-based reporting by the media is interpreted as "liberal" by the people on the faith-based side of the spectrum.

12. Photographs of Kerry eating live human babies! (link)
You see, it's not so much the fact that the photos don't exist... but it's the accusation that counts!

I promise you, in the next 50 years, unless old tyme conservatives gut the GOP of this neo-con cancer, we'll see at least one of the following:

* Republican candidate issues charges of cannibalism against their opponent. Charges result in overwhelming Republican victory across the country. Cannibalism becomes synonymous with liberalism overnight.

* Literacy will be declared a disability and schools will be shut down and replaced with kiosks featuring bright, colorful pictographs of consumables. "Food" button looks suspiciously like a hybrid of the McDonald's and Burger King logos.

* States, in dire need of financial assistance after decades of right-wing plunderage, turn to private corporations for job sponsorships. In return for providing jobs, states must accept branding. Ohio renamed "Exxon Ohiodrome".

* President Jeb Bush, in his fifth term, declares farming illegal and dangerous to public safety. Fruits and vegetables grown domestically are outlawed. Halliburton-Philip-Morris awared sole contract for importation of perishables. Videos of the Army burning American farmland and apple orchards lauded by Fox News and a "great day for freedom".

There's so many more things one could come up with...

14. Uh...they don't have shit.
Not sure what the fuck they were thinking, but whatever, it's too late now.

My theory is that the dirty tricks are going to be after the election and they're saving up for some crap in Nov/Dec.
