So the admins say some freepers will "unmask" after the election.
What's their point of being "masked" in the first place? Do they think they can claim some kind of victory because they were able to sign up?
A 10-year-old could sign up.
So what?
Why would they want to spend all that time here? Kerry won't lose, but even if he did, the freepers sure didn't conquer any ground here, not that I saw. And they didn't deaden the enthusiasm one iota.
It's better that they spent time here where they constantly got thrashed when it really mattered rather than with the more gullible and vulnerable.

5. My suggestion (Skinner please look?) |
|
When and if any freeptard "unmasks," please post the actual email address they signed up with to a dedicated thread.
The rest of us will take care of making sure they receive so much evil spam that they will think twice about pulling shit like that ever again. All it will take is posting their addys all over the web and signing them up fora few choice (ahem) web-based services.
Please, Skinner? I'd love the chance.

Having the country pulled out of their freeping little hands is victory enough.

8. I wouldn't suggest to do that |
|
two reasons:
1) I don't think we should lower our standards to their (freepers) standards.
2) They can use these against us by reporting to our ISPs about these spams and if they have enough evidences, it is possible that our ISPs will lock our accounts for that.

12. Just how would that happen? |

I am a sysadmin, network guru kinda guy. I assure you this could be done without a) breaking any laws and b) causing any problems for oneself.
At a minimum, we'd just need to post their addresses to a few websites so they were harvested by spambots. But if you go to anoffshore spam-site (please use a proxy like guardster.com if you do this) and sign up another person's email address for the services offered there (free mailings, let's say) there's absolutely no way short of the NSA getting involved it could ever come back to haunt you. I'm not saying to write these morons yourself. But there are a lot of online dating services, for example, where entering an email address will get that address on hundreds of spam lists.
Okay, it might be illegal to do that. So what. Stoop to their level? I don't have a shovel or time enough to dig. So if they try to disrupt this forum and we catch them, payback is a bitch, ain't it? Or haven't you ever sent a 100MB virus-infected script to someone who's tried to hack your network? Me neither. I swear.

11. Why? What would it matter? |
|
As strong as the motivation is here, they sure didn't do any damage.
And even one one or two made mod, which they would try for, so what if they did their job and didn't interfere with the progress?
The numbers are so strong at DU they were too far outnumbered to amount to anything significant.
Some may find someone they thought a friend really isn't, but that is on them and would only prove what everyone has been saying about freepers all the more.

15. I would just be shocked after spending a year here |

and getting to know and trust some of the posters here and then finding out they are really infiltrators.
I guess I'm just gullible and can't believe why anybody would want to do that. The only time I look at what freepers post is when somebody from here gives a link to something in particular. I tried to go to another forum at the advice of another member of another group. It was called Y2KTimebomb or something like that. It was filled with really hateful people and everytime I posted anything that even sounded pro-Dem or pro-liberal, they shot me down like a bug despite the fact that I shared the same interest in homesteading and survival prep in the case of oil depletion for me. I kept fighting but it got exhausting! Finally, I quit going there knowning it was a lost cause. I think it was dangerous to my health--I bet my blood pressure spiked when trying to deal with them civilly. I'd much rather be myself and go where my ideas are much more accepted.

But they are everywhere. It's war to them. They have been fighting for a long time and no one was fighting back, not until Bush.
You're right. It doesn't make any sense and makes even less sense for some to come here and pretend to be friends. That's why I was wondering what they could possibly get out of it.
Like the admins say, it's good that they wasted their time here where they couldn't do much damage.

This is it, thinking that they're somehow being cool by inflitrating a liberal website and causing a stir.
