Paper ballots sure are looking good to me right now. |
|
When I heard today that the machines in Florida are averaging only six voters and hour, I was stunned.
Good grief. When I went to vote early here in little Elgin, TX we all sat down at desks with paper ballots and thick pencils and voted apace.
Had we needed to have the line move faster, all we would have to have done would have been to open another room.
This would have been a good time for K.I.S.S. - - Keep It Simple, Stupid!

The paper ballots have a large arrow pointing to the candidate name. You fill in the middle of the arrow with a thick black marker. And, if you make a mistake as I did trying to vote for two school board candidates rather than one, the machine kicks the ballot back out. You have to take the walk of shame back to the elderly ladies who glare at you and give you another ballot. It's a good system. I do miss pulling the levers and hearing that "ka-ching" as you open the curtain on the voting machines.
