5. Bush/Cheney send Giuliani out to blame the troops?!? Outrageous!!!
How can these people say with a straight face that John Kerry and the Democrats are not supporting the troops! Unbelievable!!!

Has this administration taken responsibility for anything that has gone wrong on their watch?

It will be up to the voters to hold them accountable on November 2nd. We cannot rely on the cowardly media to speak truth to power.

6. Now if we can just get the press to report it
MSNBC just now had their reporter saying "the Bush campaign is accusing Kerry of denigrating the troops."

It probably wouldn't be wise for me to hold my breath waiting for the same kind of report about Gulliani.

8. Bush keeps saying that Kerry doesn't
support the troops - HA! Guiliani was probably only repeating what he was told to say, but now that it's coming back to him he'll likely be ostracized by the GOP. They'll crucify anyone whose name doesn't start with B and end with Ush.

12. Any Active Duty military accessing DU from Iraq? Your thoughts?
Rudi Guiliani has just called you out.

3ID and 101st Airborne...the press is reporting that you were both at the site. Did you know that the IAEA had the explosives accounted for and under seal at the site?

Bush wants everyone to believe you failed to perform your duty.

14. The person truly responsible for this screw up is Rumsfeld. He and those
closest to him were directing the action on the ground. It was their orders that the troops were following. And that was to secure the oil ministry and the oil wells at all costs. They did not heed the warnins of the inspectors who told them to secure the cache of traditional weapontry and explosives. This is an administration of proven arrogance and ignorance. Anyone who would vote for Bush because 9/11 happened is living in denial. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch and this administration ignored all the warnings about it beforehand.

20. Thank you for saying what needed to be said
Why does Rumsfeld still have a job? He bullied the military into backing his stupidity and now all hell is breaking loose.

He seems to be making good use of Cheney's hidey hole since Abu Ghraib.

Frog march!!

17. Sounds Like Abu Ghraib And The "Bad Apples" of Corporate Malfeasance
Abu Ghraib was the fault of a couple of bumpkins abusing their power, nothing to do with the climate clearly established by the administration's pooh-pooh-ing of the Geneva Conventions.

Likewise, the major corporate scandals under Bush's watch were about a few bad apples, and had nothing to do with out of control deregulations set by the White House.

18. I caught that too, And Matt Lauer quickly changed the subject
It's just part of the "full service" for Bushites on NBC.

Just before that Campbell Brown did an attack interview on John Edwards wherein she peddled the Bush line on the missing high explosives.

Wonder if the kstp-tv video will change that?

25. Here's a link to . . .
my contemporaneous post from this morning.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1195796&mesg_id=1195796

I actually thought that I misheard for an instant. And, I'm glad Lauer changed the subject and didn't challenge Guiliani. If Lauer had called Giuliani on his comment, Giuliani would have had an opportunity to backtrack and explain it away!

As it is, Shrub and Giuliani are on the defensive, and they must attempt to explain the comment in the media. Any excuse will ring hollow, and be perceived as backfilling.

I certainly don't think Lauer consciously elected to not follow-up or to change the subject. Rather, he appears to have been working from a script. I don't think that he's too quick on his feet!

21. Did Rudy just suggest that our troops should have disobeyed orders?
Since they were never told to thoroughly search al Qaqaa, nor were they given sufficient time to do so. Should they have told their commanding officers they REFUSED to go to Baghdad until the entire facility was tagged and marked?

Really, Rudy, I'd like to know. And to think there was a time when I didn't actively loathe you.

32. Lying his ass off
I live in New Jersey. Shortly after 9/11 I watched a documentary that apparently was filmed the day the towers fell. Here's Guiliani, outside amid the carnage of that day, screaming because he placed two calls to the White House to say New York City was under attack and still had received no response. Three years later, this lying prick, stands before the Republican National Convention and says, " On that day, I turned to Bernard Kerick and said, thank God, George W. Bush is President."
He's not only a pig for blaming our troops, he's a lying pig.
