Alone in the voting booth, why take the chance? |
|
Has anyone seen that new ad for bush?
I remember ron silver (among others) positing that there are tons of people who say they support JK, but when they get in the voting booth and think about their security, they'll vote for bush. Apparently they think thousands upon thousands of supporters pack streets and convention halls and basketball arenas to see JK with merely lukewarm support (just because it's the "cool" thing to do, I guess).
It always seemed like such desperate, wishful thinking. Then last night I saw the commercial, so it looks like they're actually counting on that dynamic. How desperate is that? Does anybody really think that there are thousands of people just mouthing support for JK b/c they're afraid to show their true feelings?

but I've been thinking that when they actually get into the booth, a lot of bush supporters will remember all the lies, the smirk, the darting eyes, Cheney, Iraq, the deficit, the environment, and everything this fraud has done to this country. And they'll go with Kerry.

3. That's what I think too |
|
I'm not counting on it in my hopes for victory, but I think that, if you're not a particularly self-assured individual, it's a lot easier to be a blustery bush supporter than a blustery kerry supporter.
The media has been telling us over and over for months how JK is boring and lacks charisma and flip flops, etc., so why would anyone support him just for show? OTOH, it seems reasonable that in certain situations and for various reasons (not the least of which is a fear of being verbally or physically assaulted by freeper types) someone might feign a lukewarm support of the boy king.

4. with the KSTP Channel 5 report on the explosives debacle, surely |
|
there will be an ad or two detailing the fact that bush gave deadly ammo to the terrorists. There is still plenty of money for tv and radio ads - let's see them roll out. The story is on DU's front page - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1196246

5. Bu$h and his Congressional Allies or Kerry and his Liberal allies |
|
What a crock of steaming dog shit.
Actually I feel the opposite may be the truer scenario......mouthing for Bu$h while voting for Kerry.

6. You know, that's funny |
|
cause I thought the exact opposite. I have a feeling there's gonna be a LOT more defectors to Kerry than to Bush.

7. I'm not counting on a LOT switching sides |
|
at least, not in the sense that I'm counting on those numbers to push JK over the top ...
But I think there are a lot more half-hearted bush supporters than half-hearted Kerry supporters. I suspect there will be quite a few leave the top of the ticket blank or just don't bother to go to the polls ... just one more reason it'll be Kerry in a landslide :D
