for communication,(after all, he was only the Mayor) so why should the President be blamed for anything either?

12. Also not his fault that there were 6,000 gallons of diesel fuel in WTC 7
Most controversial is the 6,000 gallon fuel tank. In 1998 and 1999, Fire Department officials warn that the fuel tank violates city fire codes and poses a hazard. According to one Fire Department memorandum, if the tank were to catch fire it could produce “disaster.”

Not his fault except that he made the decisions, duh.

Bernard Kerik, Kerik-Kerik, LLC

First, I would like to thank the task force for the invitation and the opportunity to make these brief remarks. The purpose of me being here today is to advise the task force that the former Mayor of the City of New York, Rudolph Giuliani and Partners has been retained to conduct an independent review of the safety issues related to the wholesale importation of medicines from outside the U.S.

As many of you know, I am the former Police Commissioner for the City of New York and as of recently was a senior advisor for the Minister of Interior for Iraq and a senior advisory to Ambassador Bremmer on the reconstitution of Iraq’s interior ministry . Today, I’m the CEO of Kerik-Kerik, and we’ll be working with the Mayor on this review.

The review includes documentation, site reviews, and we are making every effort to speak to people and groups on both sides of the issue, including those who support it as well as those who oppose the importation. Although the review will be on-going over the next few months, we anticipate having some preliminary findings this month, and we would be anxious to share them with the task force, as well as others. We are quite concerned about the growing support for wholesale importation of drugs or the purchase of medicines over the Internet when there are clearly so many unanswered questions regarding the safety of such practices. There are many risks to the health and safety of Americans with respect to the importation of drugs from outside this country.

And this is exactly how these "compassionate" pigs think about average, everyday Americans and their struggles. They are slick on the surface, but they are slime to the bone. were the troops supposed to search for something that they weren't told even EXISTED????

If ORDERED to secure sites at Al-Qaqaa and Tuwailia, troops would CERTAINLY have secured them. They were not ordered to do so - in fact they were repeatedly (according to what I remember at the time) ORDERED to get off the dime and shag ass to Baghdad, as media reports of US Forces being "mired," and unable to mobilize came in off the wire hourly!!!

Guiliani is a disgraceful excuse for a human being. Bush is an earlobe (an asshole has a function).

Just save it and then run it from your own computer. DU's server does not have the correct MIME type for a WMV file, that's all.

We ship same or next day by first class mail - there's still time to get some of these beauties!

28. There's only one troop who is responsible:
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 10:06 AM by gsh999
General Tommy Franks. Bush's yes-man and fraud hero. He shares the blame with the reckless administration that launched the war. Franks did not have the moral courage to tell what a quagmire we were getting into (like General Shinseki). Franks bailed out ASAP after seizing the airport, when he knew the war had only just begun.

There was a useless airborne mission with a brigade in Northern Iraq, in a peaceful area. The area was unoccupied and the occupation of the LZ was totally unopposed. It was a useless mission to get the Vicenza unit a combat jump. This brigade, or even just one battalion, could have been used to secure the ammo dump at Al Quqaa. The incompetence of this administration and the neocon generals is mind-numbing.

Just disgusting
Based on this information, we should blame the falling of the Twin Towers on Giuliani. It does not matter that he did not have the required knowledge or force necessary to prevent 9/11 from happening. It happened on his watch and he is responsible. Just like the troops.

The repugs made a point yesterday regarding 9/11. It was pointed out (by the Dems) that 9/11 footage is shown before every Bush Stump speech and we feel it shouldn't be that way. The repugs reply that "Yes the Dems want us to forget about 9/11. Like a bump in the road. Did we forget about Pearl Harbor the ask"

I doubt that Roosevelt would have used the bombing of Pearl Harbor as part of an Stump speech. As a matter of fact I found the following information.

"When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Roosevelt directed organization of the Nation's manpower and resources for global war.

Feeling that the future peace of the world would depend upon relations between the United States and Russia, he devoted much thought to the planning of a United Nations, in which, he hoped, international difficulties could be settled. "

30. The repuke message is getting desperate & undisciplined.
When John Edwards was asked about the explosives on Larry King a couple of nights ago, he was very careful to point out that the soldiers had done everything and more that was asked of them, but the planning from the top had been non-existent.

The repukes are flailing around looking for anything to get this story off them and they are just digging a deeper hole for themselves. They are WAY OFF their game because of this story.

Don't the pugs sound like Borg?:

After individuality has been stripped, and assimilation into the collective has taken place, a typical Borg drone will be programmed for certain ship tasks, like any vessel crew member. But drawing on the knowledge and experience of all Borg, and all archived encounters, technology, tactical information and scientific data, the Borg collective is closer to perfection than any organic crew operating under a Command structure hierarchy.

41. For the same reason they think Bush is C-in-C. Two words: good timing.
Giuliani had the perfect situation - look halfway intelligent in the response to 9/11, and the world thinks you're a hero. Even better, you don't have to hang around for the aftermath, because your term as mayor is up. All positive, no negative.

Bush's situation is similar. A trained monkey could have stood on top of a pile of rubble with a fire fighter at WTC and looked like a hero. Perfect situation - it was impossible to look bad.

He had the country and the world behind him. Bush, however, is such a moron that he managed to screw up the aftermath.

Lucky for us, that's the case. If Bush was at all competent, we'd all be wondering how badly our candidate was about to get stomped in the election. Instead, we're going to win.

for blaming our troops ! The troops are probably dying because of these explosives ! What escapes Guiliani's partisan mindset is the fact that the troops were ordered to secure top tier sites like the oil ministry first, Al Qaaqaa was a second tier project.

The explosives were in bunkers. Bush failed to make the securing of the explosives a priority. He demonstrated that by not having enough troops in Iraq for the job. And the poor fuckers who were in the area were trying to stay alive.

59. Hey Rudy, the point is - * admin knew the ammo site was there
it wasn't up to the troops to search for what was known to exist, it was the responsibility of DOD and Rummey to be sure orders to secure the existing ammo site were issued.

Oil ministry was secured, why the F not this ammo dump?

Kiss your dreams for a political future good bye Rudy! You are history, you piece of sh**!

I'm about to send this link and the Rudi quote to the Land's End guy who wrote back to me that they didn't think forcing their employees to attend a rudi speech a few weeks ago was any big deal.

I hadn't responded to this guys stupid reply to my email of complaint. I think his name was richard Mensch.

73. My mom Booed him in 1998.
Well ok, I don't know the EXACT date... =p

Point is it was before 9/11, he came to the town where I was living at the time (College Point.) He passed by and there was a big crowd of us. Most people in the crowd were cheering or silent and smiling.

Right when he passes close to us, my mom cups her hands around her mouth and yells out, "BOOOO!"

You should have seen the look on his face! It was just like the one chimpy gave to the reporter who asked about the weapons.

Yeah, so we didn't vote for him. But he did clean up the city a bit... because he's a nazi.

77. Commanders say they needed more troops.
U.S. commanders acknowledge that when troops visited the site in April 2003, they did not conduct an extensive search for weapons.

"We were still in a fight," said the commander of the unit that was first to arrive in the area, in an interview with CBS News Correspondent David Martin.

"Our focus was killing bad guys," he continued, adding that he would have needed four times as many troops to search and secure all the ammo dumps his troops came across during the push into Iraq.

How carefully do they have to search to find 380 tons of explosives?!?

I just had to mute MSNBC cause I couldn't stand to hear * say how Kerry is blaming the troops for the missing explosives - and here his attack dog Giuliani is doing it!

80. Reply from Gen. Wesley Clark
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 02:37 PM by Mister K
WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Gen. Wesley Clark (news - web sites) issued the following statement today: "For President Bush (news - web sites) to send Rudolph Giuliani out on television to say that the 'actual responsibility' for the failure to secure explosives lies with the troops is insulting and cowardly. "The President approved the mission and the priorities. Civilian leaders tell military leaders what to do. The military follows those orders and gets the job done. This was a failure of civilian leadership, first in not telling the troops to secure explosives and other dangerous materials, and second for not providing sufficient troops and sufficient equipment for troops to do the job. "President Bush sent our troops to war without sufficient body armor, without a sound plan and without sufficient forces to accomplish the mission. Our troops are performing a difficult mission with skill, bravery and determination. They deserve a commander in chief who supports them and understands that the buck stops in the Oval Office, not one who gets weak knees and shifts blame for his mistakes

82. who remembers when Giuliani was a total asshole in NY?
Before the Repukes elevated him to messiah-like status in the wake of 9/11? He screwed over just about every aspect of the City that wasn't white-middle class cops from Queens and Staten Island. He ushered in crap like K-Mart, Olive Garden and other box stores, turning parts of the City into the psedu-malls of AnyTown, USA. Sure people like to talk about how he lowered crime (along with a sky-rocketing rise in complaints to the CCRB) and increased tourism (by making Times Square into a virtual Disney theme park). What a prick.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I thought he did a great job in the aftermath of 9/11 to help calm our shocked and scared shitless nerves, its the whitewashing of his past and demagoguery that followed which nauseates me.)

93. Too late to affect military vote?
Our troops really need to know this went down, but I worry that it's too late to make a difference in the military vote. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the feeling in the RNC was "the troops have already mailed their absentee ballots, go ahead and fuck 'em".

But the troops still need to know about this just so they can see what the proponents of the war really think of them.

Christ, the mind boggles at the gall of these bastards.

87. There Goes 2008, you stupid fuck.
I watched this video with a huge amount of schadenfreude, thanks for the grab.

Who the FUCK do they think they're going to be able to run against Kerry next time?

Jeb will be 'crucified' by Florida election laws, the feeding tube debacle, etc.

McCain will be 72 in '08. That's 2 years beyond Ronald Reagan '80 old, and year younger than Bob Dole '96.

Cheney's got a bad ticker and Halliburton.

DeLay's been censured 3 times for ethics violations, assuming he's still in in the House in four years.

Frist has the whole racism card to be played against him, and the health care fraud settlements and fines against his family's company.

Unles the Governator can run for President, who do they really have?

We've just had the extreme fortune to witness the death of the Republican party.
