So how is our GOTV apparatus? Any personal reports?
I would think that Dems when they are motivated and organized perform in a far superior manner compared to the repubs when it comes to getting the vote out on election day.

I've heard from various people that we have an unprecedented campaign that is extremely well funded. Any links or articles to describe this?

Also, how about all you folks in the swing states? How are the Kerry/DNC organizations doing over there? I'd love to hear some reports. Thanks!

4. I am in PA and went to a session on Sunday
It was packed. Well over 150 people there and there was even talk of spreading some of our volunteers in to other counties. I was really pleased to see such a turnout and they are organizing us like crazy for the weekend and for Tuesday.

5. We have the votes, but need help getting them to the polls
In colorado...we have the votes to win for Kerry, but we need every volunteer we can get to make sure that they actually vote by 7pm....

I understand that this is the same across the country....we will win IF EVERYONE WILL WORK ON THE GOTV EFFORT!!!!

at the very least you can buy donuts and drop them off at the Dem HQ nearest you....

everyone should do something on 11/1-2 to make sure someone else votes!

(otherwise no bitching if kerry loses!)

6. Wish I was with you guys :(
I'm in NJ. There is no way this state is going Red this cycle. Our GOTV effort is well focused and uses lots of college volunteers. I'm currently not part of it and have been canvassing instead. I should try to see if I can take off on Tuesday and help out, but I'm very very confident in NJ's ability to get out the vote.

7. I have been active in politics for 40 years, NEVER seen anything like it
I was SHOCKED when my son told me Colorado called BOTH of us yesterday in separate phone calls, to say they would pay our way to Colorado if would could to GOTV. Then, when I checked my email, I had an email from Colorado and New Mexico asking me to help.

Whoever figured out that red state dems feel left out at this point and can be used if necessary is very smart. Both swing states by me got it and I didn't even volunteer. (I think I answered a Kerry email saying I'd volunteer months ago. My guess is that is how they got my name, # and email addy.)

I'm going to try and get more info on Colorado. I'd take a whole car load of people to a city/town in the Western part of the state over the weekend if that would help but getting off work on election day is iffy. If anyone knows if volunteers are needed there, please contact me. It is a 4 to 6 hour drive from my home and the least we could do.

8. Going well in MN
I'm volunteering with the K/E campaign and together with the DFL, we're canvassing to make sure that people can get to the polls on election day. We knock on the doors of known Kerry supporters to remind them to vote for Kerry and the local DFL candidates, let them know where their polling place is, and ask if they need a ride to the polls. If they need a ride, we ask what time they would like to be picked up and make a note of that on the list so we will be all set on Nov. 2. If someone wants to vote for Kerry, we'll make sure they get to the polls.

I'm very impressed with the organization of this GOTV effort. It's obvious that a lot of people have put in a lot of work to bring us to this point and the well-organized lists make canvassing all that much easier.
