Maine Voting Problems & Repug Tactics...Need Help
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 11:04 AM by maine_raptor
Just got off the horn with my town clerk and got told the following:

1) Not enough ballots going out to the towns. Example: Gorham with 10,500 registered voters only got 7700 from Augusta. Own town with 3300, got 2700. Similar all over the state according to Maine Town Clerks list server. Sec of State office in Augusta is not answering questions.

2) Repugs calling ALL town clerks and requesting appt to inspect ALL absentee ballots.

And one final thing that I cannot say publicly, so someone from the ME Dem Party

PLEASE PM ME AT ONCE..........I'll standby.

11. I'm a Maine DEM
I've been involved with the Kerry campaign locally,

are you requesting an office holder? I'm not an office older but I am contact frequently with my local offices.

The shortage of absentee ballots was one issue i was expecting because of the change in absentee ballot laws.

12. Thanks, buddhamama
I passed on the info high enough up the food chain that it will be acted upon.

The Sec of State's office has said that each town will get 100% of the needed ballots. The fear among the clerks is that come Nov 2 there will not be enough ballots for the regular voters and any new ones that register that day due to the high number of early (absentee) voters.

Gov B better start cranking up the printing press!
