Rudy G's comment on the Today Show this morning
Rudy Giuliani on the Today Show this morning, 7:15 am:

Giuliani: "The president was cautious the president was prudent the president did what a commander in chief should do. No matter how you try to blame it on the president the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?"

9. An Iraq war veteran responds
Statement from Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran on the Bush Campaign's Latest Excuse for Missing Explosives

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=39043

Former West Point Professor, Bronze Star recipient and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran Patrick Murphy responded to Rudy Giuliani's comments about the missing explosives this morning with the following statement:

"This is another example of the Bush administration being derelict in their duties to lead and to take responsibility. As a soldier who served proudly in Iraq, I am disheartened by the former Mayor's comments.

"This country needs leadership not excuses. Bush tried to win the war on the cheap, he didn't give us the troops the generals asked for, the troops that were needed to secure Iraq, now his surrogates are blaming the troops for his mistakes."

Rudy Giuliani, on the Today Show: "No matter how you try to blame it on the president the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?" (10/28/04)
