Dear Friend:
Keyes 2004 campaign manager Bill Pascoe, reacting to Alan Keyes' clear win in Tuesday night's second televised debate against Barack Obama, released the following statement:
"The third and final debate is over, and the score is clear:
it's three straight wins for Alan Keyes and the voters of Illinois.
"Once again, Alan demonstrated that he is clearly in tune with the voters of Illinois, while Barack Obama is outside the mainstream: on issue after issue - whether it was winning the war on terror, how best to advance educational reforms to improve the schooling of our children, seeking and achieving energy independence, defending traditional marriage, or working to get better trade deals for our workers and farmers - Alan showed his stuff, and the voters of Illinois are the better off for it.
"Barack Obama, by contrast, showed his be-everything-to- everyone style yet again. He said he's for traditional marriage, but also for civil unions; for standing tough in the war against terrorists, but in favor of negotiating with those who support them; in favor of sending his own children to private schools, but not for the poorer parents in our society; in favor of supporting our farmers, but also in favor of the so-called 'free trade' that shortchanges them.
"Next week, the voters of Illinois will have a clear choice. We're confident they'll choose the candidate who best represents their interests, their values, and their beliefs - Alan Keyes."
Even the overtly hostile mainstream media had to admit that Alan had a "classic" debate win, leaving Obama flailing, stammering and even blowing a simple "yes or no" policy question on the hot-button issue of drilling for oil in Alaska!
Hundreds of Keyes supporters turned out for the pre-debate rally outside the broadcast studio, and then congregated at a "watching party" with a big screen at near-by Northeastern University of Illinois. A terrific time was had, of course, by all Keyes supporters, as Alan demonstrated once again his capacity and fitness to become the next U.S. Senator from Illinois. To view the debate online, go to

https://secure.cartlight.com/merchant/keyes/donation.php?afid=kmcPlease refer your colleagues, friends and family to this incredible showdown between two very different candidates espousing two very different visions for America. Especially if they are undecided, do all you can to direct voters to
the site. The feedback we received today has been
overwhelmingly positive. We continue to build momentum, both in manpower and fundraising from folks all over the state who have been inspired by Alan's message and are mobilizing their communities to fight the good fight.
Remember - amazing things can happen when we each do our part in service of a cause truly worth fighting for.
Radio and television ad spots are going up all over the state.
Go to
http://www.keyes2004.com/multimedia.php#ads to hear the ads, and feel free to email the files to your network of friends, family and coworkers. Encourage them to donate online, so we can continue to intensify the scope of our ad buy. We are getting "great bang for the buck" on all we are doing with media placement, but this part of the campaign is very expensive. The unique message that Alan champions is getting out to a large degree through the power of the grassroots, and every one of you is playing a vital role.
It is up to us to make sure that, despite the mainstream media's shallow bias, the clear choice in this election becomes understood in this last week, and is given serious consideration by the electorate. That means buying the television and radio time necessary to reach the voters.
