What Nader would have to do to regain my respect:
Pull out of the race on sunday afternoon and endorse John Kerry.

Seriously, does he think his little numbers are gonna have any chance of rising any further with * in power? I wouldn't be surprised if he died of mysterious circumstances. 3rd parties would be completely marginalized. The press would never cover them.

2. Stuff the constitution and the bill of rights in his mouth and choke
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 02:03 PM by Rambis
I stood with both John Kerry and John Edwards on over 30 occasions during the primary season. I not only debated them, I watched them, I observed their deeds, I looked into their eyes. I am convinced that they are men who say what they mean and mean what they say.

I'm also convinced that at a time when a vicious spirit in the body politic of this country that attempts to undermine America's freedoms -- our civil rights, and civil liberties -- we must leave this city and go forth and organize this nation for victory for our party and John Kerry and John Edwards in November.

And let me quickly say, this is not just about winning an election. It's about preserving the principles on which this very nation was founded. Rev Al Sharpton

3. I don't see that making a big difference
if someone is following Nader at this point, I can't see them ever voting for Kerry anyway.

4. He'd have to endorse Kerry without qualifying the endorsement
So if he says, "I encourage my people to vote for Kerry, although he's still a typical corporate owned politician no better than Bush, blah blah blah", I will not forgive him for the damage he's caused.

5. Nader can have my respect only if
a) He tattoos "I'm an egomaniac" on his forehead,
b) Apologize to all the families of people who have died indirectly because his ego helped elect Bush and
c) He agrees to eat nothing but bat guano for the rest of his life.

6. Guys, relax about Nader.
If Nader gets more than 0.75% of the vote nationwide, I will flagellate myself with a wet noodle. He has NO support this time. The core argument for a Nader vote, that there is no real difference between the Democratic and Republican parties, has been completely discredited by the disasterous Bush Presidency.

The only people who are voting Nader this time are not potential Kerry voters. A handful of self-described radicals, in love with their own radicalism, who choose a bogus moral purity over the good of their country. Let's not waste one more breath on Nader or his supporters.

People who have their country's interests at heart are voting Kerry. And that's why we'll win.
