College Republicans Swindle Senior Citizens
An amazing story from the Seattle papers:

"The College Republican National Committee has raised $6.3 million this year through an aggressive and misleading fund-raising campaign that collected money from senior citizens who thought they were giving to the election efforts of President Bush and other top Republicans.
Many of the top donors were in their 80s and 90s. The donors wrote checks — sometimes hundreds and, in at least one case, totaling more than $100,000 — to groups with official sounding-names such as "Republican Headquarters 2004," "Republican Elections Committee" and the "National Republican Campaign Fund."
But all of those groups, according to the small print on the letters, were simply projects of the College Republicans, who collected all of the checks.
And little of the money went to election efforts.
Of the money spent by the group this year, nearly 90 percent went to direct-mail vendors and postage expenses, according to records filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
Some of the elderly donors, meanwhile, wound up bouncing checks and emptying their bank accounts. "

And check out "the party of personal responsibility" in action:

"Officers of the College Republican National Committee did not respond to questions about their fund raising. ...He referred questions to the group's communications director, Alison Aikele, who declined to comment. ,,,But since at least 2001, some leaders of College Republicans have objected to the tone and targeting of the fund raising done by Response Dynamics, the Virginia company that handles the direct-mail campaign.
Response Dynamics officials could not be reached for comment. "

2. One of the traits of a good conservative is to have no feelings for the
plight of others. These creeps probably don't feel any remorse at all.

Group targets seniors for political donations

An 86-year-old widow who lives on a fixed income in Burlington and reads her mail with a magnifying glass has little understanding that she's given the College Republican National Committee 40 donations since January worth $1,789.

In Chapel Hill, an 82-year-old widower living in a retirement community is surprised to learn he's given to the same group 52 times for a total of $2,266, all since January.

North of Winston-Salem, a 79-year-old woman can hardly believe that she's made 72 donations this year totaling $1,533, frequently writing checks every few days.

8. And they spen this money on shit like "Affirmative Action Bake Sales"
And other racist, fascist shit.

I really hate these slimy assholes. I am tired of having these cowards tell me how great Bush is, how important this war is, how right it is to strike first and protect our freedom and security, etc.

Usually I just tell them something like "Well, I am glad you feel that way, because our forces are spread kinda thin and we need more bodies. maybe you should enlist."

Although, usually when I say it, it is not nearly that calm and almost always includes a few profanities.
