4. Good news, but...
Isn't this the state that elected the openly racist union-busting right-wing Jesse Helms as their Senator for about thirty years???

I might add that he is one of the very few politicians to whom I believe the adjective 'evil' is absolutely applicable, a term I use with great reservation.

I could be mistaken, them Carolina's all look the same to me.

9. It is indeed
That is paradoxical now that you mention it. I was thinking that maybe the pretty factor overrides any political dissonance. I dunno. :)

6. I'm not attacking North Carolina, just saying that it seems bizarre
that some of the same people who picked Helms would pick somebody who is essentially diametrically opposed in almost all respects.

Trust me, where I live I don't have much room to talk. It's as red as can be.

8. Yes, and it's the state that gave you John EDWARDS, Sam ERVIN
and Terry SANFORD, all fine liberals we sent to DC.

12. LOL!
Back in the day, Jesse was quoted as saying he "didn't know any homosexuals" and he surely "didn't have any in his constituency."

10. Not so fast!
My conservative friend here in NC who went and voted for Kerry on Saturday said his polling place seemed to be (and I quote him) "seething with anger towards Bush."

That was his impression anyway.

17. Any word from Charlotte?
The Triad and the Triangle won't be enough. We'll need major support from the Queen City too.
