Red State people, present the scenario by which Kerry wins your state |
|
Just for fun, if you woke on November 3 and read Kerry took your state, how do you think it would be explained?

I see no possible way Kerry wins Texas.
The fundies would still think he was appointed by God no matter what.

5. Winning Mississippi is highly unlikely, but... |
|
If Kerry did, it would be because enough usual non-voters and minorities show up to make it close, and enough Repubs switch or don't vote to put Kerry over the top.
I think it will be closer here than the usual Repub sweep, though.

2. First the rapture must happen... |
|
... then all those who weren't taken must kill themselves out of depression.
Maybe then Kerry can take Indiana.

Even Bob Dole carried Indiana. But hey, at elast we didn't vote for Goldwater!

especially in NoVa, Richmond and Central C'ville areas, sick and tired of being lied to by B/C. Tidewater surprised us too!

None of the races in ND are close. R Gov will be relected, D senator, D rep will be relected.

Or if 10% more African-Americans got to the polls here.

Denver, Denver, Denver.
All the loonies down in Colorado Springs (sort of Mecca for Freepers) will be unlatching the twenty or thirty deadbolts from their doors, donning their dark glasses and tinfoil hats, and lurching off to get their cup of Kool Ade. We have to bury them with Denver liberal votes.
About 70% (I'm guessing, but it's close) of Colorado's population resides in metro Denver, and the city itself is predominantly Democrat. If we get a huge urban Denver turnout, Kerry can take the state.

We've registered scads of new voters in the Democratic-leaning cities. And I've been telling the GOPers I know that * is way ahead, they have better things to do with their time than stand in line next Tuesday.

When people realize that Claire McCaskille is much more experienced than Matt Blunt, and that Kit Bond is a drunken fool- voters realize that the republican party has nothing to offer.
Missouri is the Show-Me state and the Bushies have shown us NOTHING!

12. "WTF!!!, Kerry took Georgia" |
|
I would say that the Dems stole the election. There is no other possible explanation. Yes, Atlanta is full of transplants from the north, but most of them are yuppie types(Bush voters). If every African American got out to vote in Georgia, I would say maybe Kerry could take it.

Okay, the Ashcroft Conservatives in southwest Missouri are tired of seeing W mislead, but can't vote for Kerry: Badnarik (Lib) gets their vote... Meanwhile, Kansas City and St. Louis report record turnouts disputed by the Sec. of State, Republican Goober-natorial candidate Matt Blunt. KC and StL solid Blue, and enough rural voters vote with their pocketbooks and Kerry wins.
Some dream, but I hear that if StL and KC do get out the vote, we could turn blue. I don't know, though.

It looks bad this year, but this state is not a lost cause. Remember that JFK won here in '60, Jimmy Carter won twice, and Clinton carried the state in '92. It will take a miracle for Kerry to win here this year; it will take every minority voting and every Atlanta liberal mobilized.
