2. You can bet they are lookin
I think the Schilling effect is overrated. I really don't think too many people will change their vote on the basis of what a baseball player says

4. Ach; Shill was playing ball for Jeebus...what'd you expect?

Funny, God seems to be out to lunch when humanity commits its worst atrocities, but evidently cares a great deal about professional sports.

20. Thanks, I've been talking about this
all week and not having confirmation..

"Werner has contributed to the Massachusetts Democrat’s campaign, while George Steinbrenner, owner of the New York Yankees, has contributed to President Bush’s reelection campaign."

"Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner will be outside Holman Stadium at noon Sunday to thank southern New Hampshire Red Sox fans for their support and ask them to support Kerry for president."

10. Yea, I'm sure Bostonians are pissed right now....Please
They are too busy drinking and building statues of David Ortiz, Theo Epstein and - yes - Curt Schilling to give a good goddamn. And they are still going to vote for Kerry 5 to 1.

11. It IS a slap in the face to the people of Boston --
who hosted our Convention, live for the Sox, and could be celebrating both hometown World Champions, and a hometown President. It's an ugly thing to throw at the city.

9. GM Theo Epstein checks in, without naming names, but...
We report, you decide...

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/fallclassic/columns/story?id=1907279

"This is such an emotional lift for people in New England and all over the world," Boston general manager Theo Epstein said "I hope they enjoy it. I hope they do something good with it. I hope they go vote Tuesday and make the world a better place."

This is the guy who brought Schilling there in the first place.

One wonders if the anesthesia has yet worn off from Schilling's ankle procedure... :-)

12. Some of management (Werner, Lucchino) are Democrats.
Don't know about John Henry.

It wouldn't surprise me if Theo Epstein was a Democrat, too. Nice Jewish boy, grew up in Brookline- not many Republicans among those ranks.

I got an email from the campaign this morning saying that Kerry will be in NH Saturday.

I would expect to see someone from the Red Sox organization there.

paychecks & to the politicians who say, they want to cut their taxes.

They sit in hotel rooms hours upon hours and get their news from Fox, CNN and the like. Their whole life is their sport, how astute do you really think they are.

They get caught up in the simplistic aspects of the headlines and really believe they are getting the truth...I mean gee-whiz, ESPN gave them the correct stats and scores, so they believe they get the same truth from the cable news channels, Fox, CNN, etc.

They want to believe Bush is tough on terrorism (so their lifestyle and money are safe, they want to believe cutting taxes is good (for their millions perhaps, but the poor and middle class see little if any real tax cuts, but they don't care).

Most athletes are whores anyway, selling themselves from team to team, to the highest bidder, you think most have any scruples?

Get real!

They live in a fantasy world, treated like idols, they believe television and newspapers in the local city they are in, tells them all the truths and that's why almost all are fucking republicans!!!

17. Going Up River now Download-able for Free on the web
download at: http://www.thekerrymovie.com/

I watched this movie and it is deeply moving. It shows everything you seen in the swift boat vet. ads and displays them in context without a group of liars talking in the background to "patriotic" music and flags.

It will erase ANY idea that John Kerry is not a Hero and will prove to you that he can Lead This Nation.

It's all about the Benjis for those guys. Shilling is another one of those "born again" whackos anyway, who gives a fuck what that douche says?
