Rasmussen's 3 day national tracking poll has Bush leading 49%-47%. This is unchanged from yesterday.

Minnesota, Tie 47% (This is a 3 point Kerry gain from yesterday)

Ohio, Bush 50%-47% (This a 1 point Kerry gain from yesterday)

1. How do you gain 3% in one day in a 7 day rolling average?
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 04:06 PM by Jersey Devil
What's he telling us, Bush got something like 65% yesterday in Florida? Absurd. The other 3 pt gains are equally absurd. Or, has Rasmussen now changed to overnight samples only? All his previous polls were 7 day rolling averages

8. rasmussen says that Bush polled 5 points above Kerry in Florida yesterday.
He must have had him 1 or 2 points up the prior 2 days.

9. These are all statistical ties. Though I'd rather Kerry had the upper
hand.

Rasmussen is tilted to the right, so these numbers are worst case scenarios. Not really bad, considering the source. (Rasmussen has had *'s job approval rating at 50% or above ALMOST ALL YEAR, which is not true.)

4. Neither good or bad
These polls are macro indicators. They aren't designed to be precise in every case. A 2 or 3 point change means absolutely nothing. Everyone one of these is WELL within the margin of error!

10. yeah, i m getting pretty pessimistic
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 04:11 PM by The Doctor
let's face it. every day brings news of another atrocity perpetrated by *, and the flood of news about his corruption and incompetence hasn't even made a dent in his poll numbers. It's just about over. And if you think the rest of the world hates us now, wait until we "re"-elect him.

the upside is that another 4 years of * will spell the end of the great america as we know it, and whoever hasn't fled can start over with real elections, honest media, and a general re-institution of the constitution. Curt Schilling can go back to the time before the evil UNION enabled him to make $30M in one year throwing a baseball - he can play for $20,000 per year like teachers, nurses, and people who really matter to the country.

win/win, folks

18. Because
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 04:24 PM by louis c
a 5 day Florida tie has Bush up 3. Ohio still has Bush up 3 points, and Michigan just got 3 points closer. In order for Kerry to win, he has to carry either Florida or Ohio, and hold Pennsylvania and the lakes states (maybe we can squeek out a win without Iowa).

This is not the only poll, others have us winning Ohio.

We will still win, but I can only post the numbers that are printed.

Please don't shot the messenger.

21. Look at the "Undecideds"
90% of "Undecideds" go to the challenger. Its a good rule of thumb.

Bush needs to be ahead by at least 4% for any of this to matter.

If we are within 3% of the moron, I think we are okee-dokeee.

:D

19. When Kerry wins these pollsters are going to have a lot of explaining
to do. Clearly this is not even close to a science. Why should anybody pay attention to polls at all?
