Republican coworkers no longer wish to discuss the election
Todat they jokingly said they were going to let the air out of my tires on election day so I couldn't vote (too bad they don't know where I live and I am going before work). I said, "What - you're not really worried about your guy winning Ga are you??" They said, "Of course we're worried, we know how this thing is going to end up and it makes us sick. Do us a favor and stay home next Wednesday." Both of these women had been to vote earlier in the day. Think they may have run into some Kerry supporters in line??

1. My cry-baby GOP friend won't even talk about it, either...
He's all pouty. Usually he's runninghis pie-hole at full-bore, but not for the past couple of months.

3. If he won't talk about it
that will just give YOU more time to talk about it.

6. No way. He's rabid. Best left alone or he FREAKS.
Starts getting very hostile, and gets choked up. He's not the most stable cat when politics come up.

5. I don't think GA is as solidly red as the polls suggest either
The new voter registration numbers here highly favor the democrats and there was a shitload of them. People seem to forget that Clinton won GA in 92 and 96. Oh, how I would love it to see GA go Blue next Tuesday!!!

4. These are the same kind of people who told us all to "get over it" in 2000
after Bush stole the election.

12. I just hope it's REAL defeat you see and not some kind of "ploy"
to downplay their hand while fixing to pop off some hideous surprise right before elections. Especially vote rigging... :o

9. My RW friend said 'I dont follow politics anymore'
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 05:04 PM by KelleyKramer
This is the same person who could never shut her mouth when Clinton was in. She even said that Bush was better than Clinton.

That was a few years ago, last weekend we were at a football party and I asked who she thought was going to win the election, she said 'I dont follow politics anymore'.

I thought she was joking and started laughing (this person was usually impossible to shut up about politics) and she got real mad and just repeated 'I dont want to talk about it'.

I walked off and mumbled 'Loser' just loud enough where I knew she'd hear it.

THEY KNOW THEIR GUY IS A DISASTER, they just cant admit it. HAhaha!

Edit: spelling

17. I tried a little later that day, it was hilarious

I brought it up again, and she started repeating 'I don’t want to talk about it' and she got louder and louder each time.

Then I finally said to her.. "Why don’t you just put your hands over your ears and yell 'I cant hear you' over and over".

Everyone in the room (including all the Repubs) laughed at that one!

Everyone in the room (including all the Repubs) laughed at that one!

Perfect! There's no point in humiliating them if no one else gets to see it.

19. I didnt humiliate her

If there was any humiliation it was all self-inflicted by her.

And btw, it couldnt have happened to a more deserving person, she is the biggest loud-mouth obnoxious Bush bot.. which is also amazing her 'not wanting to talk about it' thing. There were even a couple Repubs in the room that gasped a 'WHAT??' the first time she said it.

15. D'oh! Missed a golden opportunity!
"Do us a favor and stay home next Wednesday."

You could've said, "No way am I not voting, and I hope that you vote next Wednesday, too!"

(The election is next Tuesday--shh, don't tell your co-workers.)
