NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2004 — A man describing himself as an American member of al Qaeda says a new wave of terror attacks against the United States could come "at any moment," according to a videotape obtained by ABC News.

The tape was acquired by ABC News last Friday from a source known to have Taliban and al Qaeda contacts in the tribal region of Pakistan. ABC paid the source $500 in transportation fees.

While CIA officials say they have not been able to authenticate the 75-minute tape, an agency spokesman says it "appears to have been produced by al Qaeda's media organization, al Sahab productions." The tape is marked with the same logo and graphics seen on previous videos released by al Qaeda.

The man on the tape is identified only as "Azzam the American." U.S. officials say they had not previously known of the nom de guerre. His face is never fully visible and he makes no reference to where in the United States he might have lived.

14. Al Qaeda says Bush win=Armeggedon, so why is that bad for Kerry?

I don't get it. This is supposed to harm Kerry? The tape quotes terrorists saying that Americans will suffer grave consequences for electing Bush- that is NOT an endorsement for Kerry, but a threat against the Bush Administration. Al Qaeda did not say the streets would run with blood no matter what- only if Bush wins. Why the hell is this bad for our side? Why would RW Drudge want to trumpet this? Am I missing something?

He pronounced tyranny TYE-ranny, as an example. There is a distinct second language accent that Peter Jennings made note of before he showed clips. He spoke VERY CLEARLY, though--it was "interpreter" quality english. The whole tape is over an hour, Jennings just showed a very small bit, the rivers running with blood comment, specifically.

No mention was made of any mysterious fifteen minutes. He said they gave copies to the Feebs, and the See Eye Eh! and that the govt would be showing it to the Gitmo boyz to see if they could figure out who the hell this guy is. Appparently, they paid a courier five hundred bucks for the tape.

This guy either spent his teen years here in the states or went to an international school where english is the ONLY language spoken.
