Just lurked over to DU for a spell and have noticed a general lack of optimism and a feeling of defeat. I think that as the polls being to clarify, they are sensing the political end is near for Kerry.

In addition to the overall gloom, I notice them lashing out at themselves and their parties incompetence at winning the Whitehouse. It seems that they cannot understand why some many people love the USA and hate socialism. Oh well… too bad!

I was over there yesterday and some of them were still under the delusion that Kerry would win. We need people to go over there and try to encourage them. Show them that things aren't going as bad as it seems. It makes for much more fun after the let- down.

I sometimes go DUmpster diving at the DUmp but haven't for a while PJ Comix posts some of their more sublime idiocies and spares me the trouble of having to wade through the dreck and disinfect myself upon leaving. I may don my hazardous waste suit and lurk over there election night just to watch them in convulsions though.

Apparently the Bush Campaign is getting desperate. Hit with a flood of bad news this week, including a bunch of disappointing tracking polls in the media, they have to do something to reassure nervous supporters. So it looks like they're shopping around their "internal polls."

For what it's worth, I asked a source over at the DNC about this. The source, who just happens to also be "tuned in to the conversations at the highest levels" tells me that the Kerry campaign's polls are not showing any sort of Bush surge. In fact, they're showing precisely the opposite.

Panel surprised me by agreeing that the NYT/CBS/Kerry lie about "stolen Iraqi weapons" has stopped Bush's momentuum and may cost him the election. I was surprised and disappointed with their conclusion. Only Krauthhammer suggested that the story may backfire on Kerry before the election.

1) Lead story about Kerry and Springsteen -- with highlights of all the Kerry zingers (including the Boss/Cheney comment). They also follow w/ some brief coverage of Bush, but not the same TV value.
2) Next story: Missing weapons -- again w/ statement of Kerry criticizing Bush w/ "proof" of U.S. failure.
3) Next story: What else, but Halliburton -- critically important story.
4) Next story: How bad the campaign is, where they manage to work in video of Bush giving the camera the finger in a joking manner. I cannot beleive they gave this story credence. Unbelieveable.
5) Finally about 20 minutes in they show portions of the tape, mainly trying to defend their actions in the delay
