A few days ago ya'll were saying if things look good for Kerry on Thursday |
|
then he should win.
It's end of day Thursday.
How are things looking?
Fake-looking, almost comical terror alert video, real video of explosives left unguarded, news cycles seeming to be not good for bush and bushies, early voter turnout in states with early voter turnout is breaking records (here in TX, all our urban counties are reporting the highest voter turnout and they are on average 15,000 more people than this time in 2000).
So how's it looking DUers? I just woke up from a two hour long antihistamine fueled nap and am feeling sick (ill) and haven't watched TV in more than a week but I did read the NY Times this morning.
We talking a win, or what? What's your gut saying right now?

I've registered 100 voters, canvassed, housed out-of-town college students working for JK, and gonna do something election day.
This is NOT unusual.
We are NOT going to let the fascists win this time.
BANK ON IT!

10. See, that's what I tend to think.... |
|
here's my theory: yeah, they'll try like hell to suppress the vote (one of the most un-American things I have EVER heard of in my life, right up there next to selling state secrets), they'll try to intimidate and harrass voters, they'll try some dirty BBV tricks.
But it won't. Be. Enough.
That's how sick of * I think most voters are. I also think a lot of soft bush supporters have decided to stay home. In the end, they just aren't as hungry for a win as we are. NO group could be as hungry as the Dems this year.

7. George W. Bush just announces he supports civil unions... |
|
which is diametrically opposite everything he has ever said about gay marriages or civil unions...from his years of Governor on. It pisses his base (though they don't say a word) and no one with even a particle of brain matter actually believes him.
Bush is desperate. And it shows.
Kerry is winning. It looks damn good.

I'm singing "Happy Days are Here Again." I want to bring that song back. Guess its cause when I was little and went to demo rallies and conventions as a kid it was playing all the time.
Yeah, I'm old, but its a good song.

was a lifelong die-hard Democrat and wouldn't HEAR of voting republican.
When I was a little kid, she was very sweet to me and my brother. I think she was subliminally making me and my brother Democrats because she bought us a little music box when we were 7 and 5 and it played "Happy Days are Here Again" and she told us all these wonderful stories of conventions and rallies she had been to with her parents, big-time Dems. Her dad served in the South Dakota House of Representatives for three terms as a Dem before he was killed in a car accident with her mom. :(
Anywho, my brother and I didn't even know what Democrats were, but she said "Whenever you hear about Democrats or the Democratic party, you remember this song" and she played it and sang to it over and over and over again. We learned the song and sang it, too.
Wily, sneaky woman. LOL!
I can still hear it in my head and see her singing and doing a few steps to it. Her eyes just sparkled and we loved her so much.

my dear sweet Aunt Willa loved the song and sang and did a little dance to it too. She took me to my first democratic convention when I was 6. I loved her so much too.
Now I gotta find a music box that plays that tune. . .

13. I think we're gonna win. |
|
It won't be quite the landslide it would be if the Repugs weren't pulling every trick in the book -- and coming up with new ones as they go along. But I think we have enough momentum, and tons of news reports making the Bushies look bad, that we will win handily enough to prevent a theft of the election.

:-(. Nothing sticks to this guy. He is now without a doubt the most corrupt, incompetent, and stupid president we have ever had, and still his poll numbers keep going up. Clinton would have been impeached three times by now with a performance like *'s.
We will have to come to grips to being led by a man who got away with election theft, anthrax-bombing dems and tv people, treason (Plame, LIHOP), perjury (lots of lies in the SOTU), cowardice (his 9/11 performance), and deriliction of duty.
Scary, but true. Hope the people of the world forgive us.

Be ready. But if it's anything like the "surprises" they've rolled out thus far, it'll be a real snoozer.

31. All the polls are statistically tied, as yesterday, and the day before. |
|
And the day before, and the day before that.
This race is close close close. Kerry's up on some polls, down on some polls. All, I think, (of the nat'l polls and the battleground state polls) are statistically tied, w/in the MOE.
Bush's job approval rating hovers around 50%, same as before. Not enough to say he'll win, but not low enough to say he'll likely lose.
Phew! This is tight. Which bodes well for Kerry.
