schilling is human garbage
hey, look folks....i'm as happy for the red sox as anyone is. but let's be honest, and i'm going to remain consistent with my feelings about bush apologists no matter who they are. i don't fault schilling for being a baseball player that used his media exposure for making a political statement after the game or for campaigning with his favorite candidate for president. i fault him for being a freeper, a fake christian, and a republican dirtbag.

the very fact that schilling supports the most vile, corrupt and evil administration in the history of our country is enough to make me lose any ounce of respect for him i ever had.

freepers = human garbage
republicans = human garbage
schilling = human garbage

i believe schilling helps bush in nh (this region is in the threall of a sports team madness the likes of which has never been seen) and if it's enuf to carry the state (bush won by 4000? votes last time) then it could be enuf to win the election. if gore carried nh 4 years ago none of this would have happened. then there's maine?

Bush may be evil, but that doesn't mean that

Bush has worked tirelessly to play on on the
beliefs of people like Schilling, and to denounce
Schilling categorically like you are makes you
just as bad as any raving right winger.

You have every right to be angry at Bush and
his crowd.

But you cut off your own nose with your intolerance

in such a callous fashion.

You don't know how he lives his life.

You don't know if he walks the walk.

So you're spouting shit because you're jealous
that he's rich or something.

But calling him a fascist doesn't make him one.
Just like when the wingers repeat something over
and over doesn't make it true.

We're supposed to be opposed to interolerance
of all forms. That's what makes us supposedly better
than them. That you practice it so openly is really
sad.

Yeah, you played the hitler card because you didn't

21. I say LET IT GO
Schilling is so unimportant in the big scheme. LOOK AT THE GREAT DAY WE HAD!!!

Sox won. Rudy said the TROOPS were wrong to not have more of themselves to guard the ammo dump. 80K people out to see Kerry and Bruce. THE AMMO STORY...that crushed the Shrub! HALLIBURTON, Pentagon on the ROPES!!! Absentee ballots gone missing--replacements being sent out, people riled up and pissed off! That faked photoshopped ad of weecowboy's....attack of the clones, who should have been guarding that ammo dump, I guess!

This is AMERICA. Schilling has every right to be DUMB. We hate it when they take our freedom, let him vote for Bush because his single issue is that the cheap bastard wants to ruin our schools, deny health care to people, and destroy our country, just so he keeps his tax cut. We know he doesn't care about the regular people, he is showing that with his endorsement.

I don't like it, but I, unlike this administration, say he has the right to vote like a goddamn selfish fool.

It won't do him any good, though--we are gonna WIN.

34. Schilling is a star pitcher for the Red Sox
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 07:25 PM by alarcoeg
he is a born-again Christian, and in the after-game interviews has been heavy on the "I couldn't have done it without the Lord" rhetoric. And, of late, he has been loudly professing his love for Bush all over the media.

on edit: apparently he's stumping for Bush now in New Hampshire:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=939988&mesg_id=939988

He's a great pitcher, but his political views should be of no consequence to anyone. The only thing is that he has an extremely high profile in a certain demographic right now, so his pro-Bush rantings might have some effect. It is not just Bostonians who have been following the Red Sox - they have been a sentimental favorite since they beat the Yankees (who many people around the country loathe) AND won their first World Series title since 1918.

43. cool down. every one of us would do that same for Kerry...
...that is, if we were being interviewed by Good Morning America, I would hope every DUer would try to slip in a "Vote Kerry" with just days to go before the election.

So the guy likes Bush. So do about 50 million other people. That makes them all human garbage?

sheesh

44. No, not every one would do the same.

I don't expect Tiger Woods to come off the 18th tee and say "Vote for _____". I don't expect Michelle Kwan to skate over to get her scores and say "Vote for _____". Schilling did this the moment the Sox plane touched down. It was ill-timed, it was inappropriate, it divided Red Sox nation when we should be celebrating.

69. Let's get something straight
If you used your fame to support FDR in 1932, and someone else of equal fame supported Adolf Hitler, do you think it's the same thing.

How can you believe that Bush is the worst thing that ever happened to this country, and this is the most important election in 150 years, and give Shilling a pass.

It's not the same thing. Doing what's right is not the same as doing what's wrong.

People who praised Hitler, or Stalin, or supported the KKK doesn't get a pass for just expressing their opinions.

Bush is Evil. His administration is Evil, and anyone who supports it is supporting Evil, even if they incorrectly invoke the name of God.

51. Hey now
Much of that Republican "human garbage" is voting Kerry.

My friend at Starbucks for instance, who is conservative/moderate, but also gay. He is conflicted, but leaning Kerry. He's none too thrilled with Kerry's politics, but he can't stand Bush.

And one of those Republicans is also one of Kerry's best friends.

57. Schilling is more than likely finished in baseball
Because of his ankle. Sad to say, you're not going to find many millionaire athletes that don't support Bush because money trumps the common good in too many cases with people.

As for his "professed" Christianity, a person who follows an anti-christ is an anti-christ himself. When they come to their senses then I can forgive them. Not while they give that anti-christ their support.

He would have pleaded with everyone to vote for Kerry.

There is no excuse for voting for the Boy King. :spank:

65. I'm loving this "If you're not with us, you're against us" Bush type
mentality we got going on here. I really feel the love. Sigh. I have good friends who vote Republican, it's just the way it is. We need to get over it and work to cancel their vote. Hit the streets with me!

67. I realize that some sport figures are rethuglicans
Not all are, but many are, and I have no problem with that. What pisses me off about the Schilling thing is that it was totally inappropriate given the situation. If he had called * or his representatives and offered his time to shill for them, so be it, but doing that way was just stupid. He is cocky and thought that because he helped win the World Series he somehow was now a spokesperson that could sway people one way or the other. Too bad Schilling. You are a morans!!!!!!!

72. schilling does what others don't
At least he speaks out about who he supports unlike other athletes who haven’t come out and talked about the election. What an athlete says is not important to me but it does for disintested people.

74. Red Sox Owners Are Kerry Supporters

Tom Werner campaigned for Kerry last weekend. I have to believe they will do more for Kerry if Schilling does this.

Schilling has the right to express his view (I don't agree with him, but it is his right). I don't like him saying negative things about Kerry - that will cause problems for him.

Born in Alaska, redneck, pro-hunting/guns, born again Christian, addicted to chewing tobacco, and rich. Is it any surprise he's a Bush supporter?

77. FOR PETE'S SAKE, WILL EVERYONE LET THIS GO?????
End caps. Sorry, but this REALLY pisses me off.

So he's voting Bush! Big fucking deal! How many fucking people who were previously going Kerry gonna go Bush because Curt Schilling told them to?!

This is what Freeperville sees when they send their scum to troll over here, and then they walk back to their mudhole and have a good chuckle about the "DUmmies" who are freaking out about the fact that a baseball pitcher who makes millions is voting Bush.

Curt Schilling is a fundie! Most fundies are bamboozled by Bush! My God, will everyone just let this GO?????

86. so the f what???
so what if he shills for Bush? I can't see it having any effect... let this go. If someone gets their panties in a wad over this and starts tagging the "human garbage" label, how insecure is that? Much more important fights to wage in the next few days than worry about this.
