CNN: Karl Rove says explosive story HELPS them |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 07:08 PM by steve2470
John King doesn't buy it. Karl Rove only told John King the line. The Karl Rove quote is NOT on the internet yet, AFAIK, except for right here !
Candy Crowley claims JK has "dialed it back a bit", trying not to overdo it
"..missing ammo story is a metaphor for the entire war, someone at the campaign told me..." - Crowley
"Haliburton is a good issue for them, in general...Focus groups tell them that Haliburton is negative..." - Crowley

He should be on comedy central. If we had any legitimate news stations left, then I would say that he does NOT belong on them.

21. This is standard tactic for conservative personality-types |
|
i have 2 friends who are cons. they do the exact same thing. when you nail them with a conclusive fact or damning example, they (independently- they dont know each other) say "this is actually good for our side." one usually goes to the extreme and says "this actually proves my case", and then cuts off discussion.
I guess its part of the brain defect that makes them anal-retentive conservatives to begin with.

11. Rove Tactics....Possible: |
|
A Rovian tactic is to spread mis-information to the enemy that makes the opponent look bad...and when it's disproven as absolute fact, it makes the enemy look bad.
Example #1.) RatherGate; the truth of Rather's facts were outweighed by the indignation of fcries of foul play, left slanted media; not checking facts, etc. Result:? Rather looked bad, CBS looked bad, and Bush was still not proven to have gone AWOL or discharged dishonorably, or gotten favored treatment because of his father.
Example #2.) Judge Election? or Senate? Rove ordered and paid to have people distribute flyers to neighborhoods that scandalized his candidate. Everyone thought that the other guy did it, and it was right before the election; he couldn't retract it...awful mess.
Hatfield?
I'm worried that Mohammed Abbas was paid favors to release the info to the IAEA. Why else would he do this right now? He knew it would hurt Bush. If he leaked the info, and it's proven that the explosives were stolen prior to the invasion, then we have egg on our face, and it detracts from the real issues.
Every time I hear Bush say: Check your facts, I shiver. (He doesn't check his facts, he lies.) But it seems like a set-up.
If someone could give me a good reason why Abbas would release this info to the IAEA, I'd appreciate it!

30. Most assuredly the timing of release of facts don't change facts.... |
|
release lies, then your opponent is going to be caught up in defending those lies. That is the was Rove operates, even if the lies are slanderous to his own nominee.
But I repeat: If someone could give me a good reason why Abbas would release this info to the IAEA, I'd appreciate it!

33. That's exactly what I was thinking. . . |
|
I've never seen an administration screw up, lie about their screw up, then somehow, turn it around and blame the other side, and get it to stick the way these bastards can. I swear they must have altars to Beezelbub in the White House basement and must sacrifice innocents every day. . . wait, dumb me, that altar would actually be in Iraq and the innocents would be the citizens of Iraq and our own military (who by the way, can now also be blamed by RoveCo for any and all problems over there). Unfuckingbelievable. George Orwell would be freaked out with the shit these asswipes get away with.
