A woman I know got a call from her son in Iraq and pleaded with her to vote for Kerry. This woman told me she has never voted before. She has a good reason to vote now. I told her I heard that 75% of the military is favoring bush, and she said, not according to her son.
He said everyone over there wants Kerry. They are all ready to come home. She said she will be the first one in line on Nov 2nd. I think we are going to have a landslide for Kerry.

1. It breaks my heart.
These soldiers being sent over to a Bush created hell hole to kill and die--the last thing they want to do. And then there's the people who live in Iraq. I figure all the pseudo-Americans who want Bush in office can go over to Iraq themselves and let these guys/gals come back home.

2. My daughter is
corresponding with a soldier who will be in Iraq shortly. He has already voted absentee for Kerry. I know he is very concerned about his vote being counted.

4. Everyone I've talked to...
that has returned from Iraq is so disillusioned and bitter about everything. They honestly do not care who wins. They certainly do not like Bush, even if they liked him before they were sent to Iraqnam. These are just the troops I have talked to though.

5. I just don't get how any of the troops could support *...
I keep thinking of that guy in F 9/11 talking about the Halliburton truck driver making 100K while soldiers are making poverty wages. And I guess the accommodations for civies is plush. They aren't sleeping in tents on the sand eating K-rations.

My husband was in the military and I hated listening to these guys who will be making 30K a year retirement for the rest of their lives. Most have only know working for the gov (Naval Academy educ, 20 years active duty, and some cushy gov job while collecting retirement). Yet, they are so blindly supporting the repugs - keep gov out of our lives. Hypocrites!!
