A Republican of like 50 years...she claims if Booooshhh gets in again that she will march on Washington herself.

She's not only voting for Kerry but is doing the straight Dem ticket thing!

12. My father and mother-in-law...
My father-in-law says its just a simple question of competency.

His brother (my wife's uncle) used to be on the Republican Central Committee in his county and is going Kerry because he believes in fiscal conservatism and Bush doesn't.

I've never seen anything like this before!

20. my boss' (ceo) bridge club........
she & her husband are dems, but until last week they had never discussed their politics with their country club set. she informs me that the wives in her bridge club are all lifelong repubs, and voted for (*) in '00, but are voting for kerry this time, and have convinced most of their husbands to do the same.

I happened to be driving thru her neighborhood this past weekend, and we're talking homes in the $300k to $450K range, and i was astonished at the number of k/e & erskine bowles yardsigns. it was a sight to behold, right here in the north carolina.

23. My mom, dad and sister.
ALL Washington Republican (and I mean DEEP) insiders. They are very quiet about it though. There is a whole group of moderate repubs in Washington (according to my mom) that are very very quietly voting Kerry. Most are alumni of Nixon/Ford admin. They all live in MD or VA.

have committed to voting for Kerry. my dad was even invited to a big bucks bush fundraiser and he declined. almost completely over Iraq, fiscal irresponsibility, and reliance on middle east oil.

28. My grandparents.
Grandpa is a retired AF Colonel and Vietnam vet. Grandma taught Sunday School. They are well-to-do Southern Baptists and have never voted Dem before. Ever. (So they tell me.) I almost fell out of my chair when they told me last year that they were opposed to the Iraq war. And now they will be voting for Kerry. In fact, I think they already have!

29. "Voted Democratic" would the be the correct usage.
Democrat is a noun. Freepers like to use it as an adjective to piss off the left.

32. At least six
At least. And a few more that don't like to talk about it, but it is obvious. I only know one republican, a retired state cop, who still supports Bush. At least, last I spoke with him about it three weeks ago. This guy comes up to me with every Fox news headline..."Hey, didja see, our guys caught another one of them Irakkees!" as if that means something. I just smile at him anymore. But he is the last holdout I know of.
