Ohio Update - Blackwell files appeal |
|
Republican Secretary of State Blackwell filed an appeal today in response to yesterdays court ruling. Ohio state law requires voter challenges to be held 2 days before the election. Heard this on NPR today, they made it sound like he will be struck down because of the lack of time. Some of the counties involved have already held hearings and have denied the Republican's challenge.

what the hell is with him? Somebody had posted something last night with a quote from him that said he likely wouldn't appeal this. It's worse than Bush* himself! "I won't appeal the ruling ... except if I do appeal the ruling."
Turd. I'll tell you what I want to see -- I want to see Democratic poll challengers standing in my cozy little Repuke precinct, asking middle-aged, middle-class white people for verification that they're registered, that's what I want to see. Not because I think any of them aren't -- just because it would be such great theater, and some of these blind assholes might realize what this crap feels like when you're disenfranchised, black, poor and scared.
The black hoodie 'Mosh' thing sounded kind of silly to me, when it was first proposed, but the temptation to make a run to Target over the weekend is getting stronger by the day.

it was on the news last night that he would not file an appeal, not last night anyway.

5. Okay, so what's your take? |
|
Did he get a hummer from an underage intern or something? I really wonder what they've got on him. Ambition can only explain so much -- he's taken this past the point where he's trampled all over what he'd need to fulfill the ambition I always suspected (that he wanted to run for governor), by disenfranchising the bloc of voters he'd have to win over if he wanted to win, as racist as I'd have to suspect a certain subsector of the Ohio Republican voters probably are. Damn, Sam -- he must have a big ol' honkin' secret hiding there somewhere. That, or they've promised him to replace somebody who'd leave the admin if they got in again. You think that's it? They've promised him a place in the administration if he wins it for them?

6. Monday would be too late |
|
They would have to contact the voters and then schedule a hearing, simply not enough time.
