The only one that matters is Tuesday, and I've already made my mark.
I don't care if the Repubs win every poll through Monday as long as we win the big one on Tuesday.

18. Well, yeah, that's the whole point |
|
The freepers have been doing that for years and had many convinced their view was popular because the polls always tipped their way. They used to brag about "owning the 'net." Not any more.

13. They give them to everyone in our county |
|
People really do wear them on election day.
I guess it is kind of lemming-like, but it's also a form of bragging isn't it? It says I did my civic duty.
I do like your sassy green m&m though. Aren't green ones known for their aphrodesiac effect? ;)

12. I agree let the A-holes think they are winning |
|
I find it only infuriates people even more to think bush is ahead in the polls and keeps them on target to go and vote Tuesday!

14. DUing polls was vital during debates. Poll data morphed into news stories |
|
Definitely sculpted immediate post debate spin. Polls were news stories both here and abroad. Maybe by the third debate, the importance of poll results tapered off. And maybe they will never be as important ever again. IMO, there was a small window when DU as wll as the overall Rapid Response dem effort was super key.

19. I couldnt agree more! |

There is no question in my mind that we did indeed make news of a sort when we DU-ed polls. Freeped polls hurt us in 2000, and this year I think we helped ourselves by being active. If we stop doing it and we let that small minority of neocons go back to controlling what the MSM thinks we think in net-land, we will be making it harder for ourselves in the long run. For instance, lets say Kerry wins 57-43 and the nov 3 polls all ask, "is it a mandate?" I dont know what anyone else is gonna do but I am voting in every poll I can find.

I only voted once on them, as you should. But now, I don't even look for links, or respond to requests. It's meaningless.
