Letter From My University President Regarding the Election...
Dear (Insert My Real Name Here),

There is power in numbers, and as one of America's 9 million college
students, you have the power to elect the next president of the United
States. But you won't realize that power unless you cast a vote on
Tuesday, Nov. 2.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that in 2000, only a third of the 24
million eligible voters ages 18 to 24 actually voted. The good news is
that things are shaping up quite differently this year. A recent Harvard
Institute of Politics survey found that 72 percent of college students
are registered to vote and plan to vote this year. I hope you will be
among them.

The right to vote is a precious one. Please take some time this weekend
to research the issues and candidates in our national and local
elections so you can make an informed choice when you go to the polls next
week. They will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sincerely,

Father Holtschneider, C.M.
President

>>>The only thing that scares me is that he asks us to
>>>take some time this weekend to research issues
>>>& candidates, so you'll be "informed"! Oy, I hope people
>>>are more involved and informed than that.

1. that letter
That letter is hilarious to those of us who have read in depth on these issues for the past four years!

Take the weekend to reearch. LOL. Oh man.

It takes damn near four years of reading four hours a day to stay on top of shrubbie's crimes.

Cher

2. Abbreviated research plan

It takes damn near four years of reading four hours a day to stay on top of shrubbie's crimes.

Ah, but lurking on DU for a weekend could compress a great deal of these crimes into something to be absorbed in a few days. The shock value alone would make me vote for Kerry if I was that uninformed.

3. You know college students:
Procrastinate all term, then pull an all-nighter just before the big exam.

The guy knows his audience.
