Was the "Terrorist Video" shown on ABC PRIMETIME a joke?

Dark haired caucasian American guy (the accent is American) in an arabic head scarf (the typical black and white scarf) covering all but his eyes, wearing black wire rimmed glasses, says something like: We are in America and we will kill one of you for each life you have taken.

What was interesting is it feels like it was made in Wayne and Garth's basement and Wayne is about to rip off the scarf - grinning and say "Was I good? Waynes-World, Waynes-World."

It really seems fake (in feeling) and too much like an SNL skit to be real. Also, somehow, whether real or fake, the guy doesn't seem, somehow, threatening. But, I suppose a lot of wackos don't seem threatening until they actually do something dangerous. So who knows.

I think all this terror stuff is overblown nonsense (they just want to control us) - I mean the US is not Lebanon or Israel - so not apt to take any of this seriously. There is a terror billboard about reporting suspicious acts on the NJ turnpike that makes me ask - what country am I living in - is this some alternate reality?

I tried starting a thread on this earlier, but those responding thought I was from outer space or something.

Anyway, Drudge has asserted that CIA/FBI have already authenticated the video, but ABC says it hasn't been. For obvious reasons, I do not trust Drudge's assertions.

At first, I pegged it as a "GOP hack job", but at the very least, it's somebody's hack job, somebody's attempt to perform some sort of political manipulation.

Further, as far as I know, this isn't how al Qaida operates. They've never been so open with their plans, removing all surprise like this. They've also never put before such an American sounding spokesman (to my knowledge). It just smells.

You know right when I saw that I thought, hey they gotta be "fair and balanced" so after showing all those celebrities stumping for Kerry, they had to show someone stumping for Bush.

29. The way they presented it on PrimeTime was very odd.

They segued from the piece on celebrities on the stump into some "perhaps this is the most poignant message of all" crap, then played a clip of the video. After having heard about this all evening, I was curious to see it, and I have to say that I laughed out loud. Honestly, I don't know how the guy who introduced it kept his countenance. What was really odd, though, was that they didn't give it much of an introduction. Didn't say where it originated. Didn't say if it had been authenticated or not. It was completely bizarre! They just played it, went to a break, and didn't mention it again.
