In a town with a Spanish name
One MIGHT assume something like this wouldn't happen:

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20041028-9999-7m28votgide.html

Bush probably translated to "Safety and Passionate Sex For All"
Kerry to "Death"

But that's just a guess. Don't worry, though. I'm sure all of the problems will be fixed by November 3rd!

1. The closing sentence is so true
"If you pay somebody, it better be right."

There are so many bilingual people they could have paid to do this properly. Wonder why they hired someone so incompetent. Amazing.

5. reminds of something Franken said...

Regarding Bush's manifold screw-ups when explaining the War on Terruh, Al said that they should have just gotten Mohammed the Cab Driver and asked him to look over Bush's speeches. "Okay, Okay... 'Islam is a religion of peace." Good, Good... What are you calling the War? A 'Crusade'?! Oh, no, no, no, no, no...."

Even if they didn't want to pay someone to translate it, couldn't they at least have put it in front of a Spanish speaker and just see if he broke out laughing?

2. We understand the concerns of Hispanics
Yeah, after all, we know they vote about 80 to 95 percent Democrat, and we can't have that now can we?

This little example of incompetence leads me to ask: was it about making sure Hispanics are misinformed as to voting rights and procedures, or is it just about taking the money and running?

4. In this city
I have to quote Grandpa Simpson when he was asked if he was trying to distract them, or was just Senile...

"A little from column A, a little from column B".

We want to encourage minority turnout, as long as they know which way to vote in the LOCAL elections (the statewide/federal ones are already decided, so who cares?)

6. WRONG!!!
Every precinct counts, and that can make the difference. That same attitude brought the wrath of the shrub upon the world. We all stand together or we all hang separately.
