XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN NOV 5, 2000 17:50:29 ET XXXXX
BUSH INTERNALS REVEALED: LEADING GORE BY 5% IN FLORIDA; CALIFORNIA BY 2%
The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained the Bush campaign's most recent internal polling data.
The confidential data commissioned by Bush shows the Texas Governor topping Vice President Gore by 5% in Florida, 9% in Michigan and by 2% in California, within the margin of error.
The fresh results have given senior Bush staffers a deepened sense of confidence going into Tuesday's election.
MORE
Bush's internal polling shows the governor up 4% in Washington state and up 10% in Missouri. One sour spot for Bush: Pennsylvania, where he finds himself down 2% into the homestretch.
A campaign spokesman refused comment on the polling leak

2. 2% in California - obviously a leaked story |

I gotta admire how good they are at keeping their troops motivated. Hnag in there, gang! We're gonna have a historical upset in California! The usual bullshit, all-bluff, paper tiger approach that is the hallmark of the neocons. You don't need the facts to back you up if you're just confident enough.
Too bad that kind of leadership style gets so many thousands of people killed. Their gameface skills are truly enviable.

8. I know what year it was, Immer. My point still stands: they're all bluff |
|
All bluff and no "stuff". While they THOUGHT they had (or said they thought they had) a 2% edge in CA in 2000, they lost by over 15%. They just put on their game face and go for it. It's the same mentality that led to them starting a war w/o planning it out first.

I'm sure Gobbel himself pioneered this tactic in Nazi Germany to support Hitler and the regime. Internal polls have to be made up, by definition, as they don't actually reflect official survey polls published on a regular basis. After all, what does it say about the accuracy of EITHER poll if two different poll types are necessary?

10. They only pull out the "internals" when it's looking BAD |
|
Seriously, a campaign that does this knows it's in trouble and is trying to shore up the troops!
And they've already done it this year, too!
Notice, the Kerry campaign is not "leaking internals".
