Attention NC DUers-important information about judges on ballot
In the 2004 election the party affiliation of judicial nominees are not listed on the ballots in North Carolina. Looking through the voter guide that was mailed this week it is easy to spot a few "conservatives" based on key phrases like "marriage is a sacred union of a man and a woman" and "all life is valuable and unique". Unfortunately, the ballot does not contain these clues.

Be prepared when you get to the polls. Print out this document from the NC Democratic Party:

http://www.ncdp.org/PDF/Judges2004.pdf

It lists all Democratic nominees running for office in the state in 2004. It is virtually impossible to remember every Democratic nominee so be sure to take the document with you to ensure that you are not casting your vote for a person who doesn't share your political convictions.

Also, remember that a straight ticket Democratic vote does not include the presidential nominees. You must select a presidential candidate even if you vote straight ticket. Failure to do so mean you are not voting for president.

Once again, I urge you to go to the polls prepared. Don't waste your vote because you are not familiar with the nominees from your party.
