Saw three people handing out Bush literature at my Train Station
This is in heavy Republican suburb of Chicago.

4 out of 5 commuters agreed, and threw the pamphlets into the trash immediately.

1. Ha! What did the nimrods handing out the literature do when people threw
it away! I would have tried to throw it away right then and there if there was a trash can around!

2. The people walked down the platform and threw it away
The canvassers were paying attention to new commuters coming up the platform.

I saw what they were trying to give me and said, "Not from THAT man."

She said, "He's been great for our country."

I just kept on walking, but I should have taken the literature (to throw away later) and said, "I haven't really made up my mind yet, tell me more" to waste her time until my train came.

3. Yeah, we saw a woman holding up a sign for the cars in Naperville
This woman was absolutely Pickles-like. She looked so proud of herself, but I think it was clear that she was protecting her tax cut.

4. That's nothing
I've been a registered Democrat all my life and I've already received 2 calls from the local Repugs urging me to vote for *.
Last night someone from the Repukes actually came to my door handing out * literature. I told her she's wasting her time and slammed the door in her face. Why the fu*k aren't we doing the same thing here-is it because they consider NYC a waste of time because Kerry will win the state handily?

5. I was stopped by a State Trooper today
I have a "Worst President EVER" picture in my back pasenger window, with Bush and that dumb look holding a little flag. The cop pulled me over and told me to remove it because it blocks my view. I have an Escort with one of those triangle shapped windows in the back, the picture covers about 2/3 of the window and I can still see through the back portion of the window for my blind spot. I told him I'm not taking it down because it doesn't prevent me from seeing the blind spot, so he wrote me up a ticket. NICE HUh? The jack booted agents are out in force I see. I'm sure if it was something against Kerry in my window he would have given me the thumbs up.

8. Even though I can
see out my window? Most police, at least in my area are all for Bush. Many of them spent time in the military and their reason for supporting him is because, and I quote, "He took the money from the welfare people and gave it to the military where it belongs." This is the mentality we're dealing with.

11. Depends on the state...
If he has rear view mirrors on both sides of the car, the cop may be wrong. Check the laws of your state...you may want to fight it.

:puke:
there's LOTS of regulations about driving....some people drive around in VANS that have NO BACK WINDOW AT ALL...or haul trailers behind them that BLOCKS the back window....usually, the only requirement is that you have TWO side mirrors....

my sympathies are with you...it's a real drag to FIGHT YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT for your right to free speech....boot bush* out NOW...

13. Thanks amen1234
Happy to be here. I'm going nuts with this election. My wife is wondering why I'm so on edge lately, and it's because of this election. I wish it was Wednesday and I had a hangover from celebrating a victory. This place helps a little though.

14. You can probably get out of that BS ticket.
Check your state laws, especially regarding tinting. (It's not the same issue, but it could set a precedent for your argument.) In many states, only the windshield and front windows are regulated; you could paint every window behind the front seat black as long as you have outside mirrors on both sides.

My county has a system whereby a hearing officer can dismiss cases before they ever go to court. If your county (or the county in which you received the ticket) has something similar, the hearing officer is the person to see.

12. Tell them, "Unless that's a warrant for his arrest, I'm not interested!"
I hope someone offers me some pro-Bush literature, I might also say "No thanks, I just bought some Charmin!"
