1. No.
He's not half the orator that Clinton is. He also doesn't connect with the average person on the level Clinton did.

There is only one "Big Dog".

4. i wouldn't say that
FDR probably didn't connect with the average person suffering under the great depression, but they loved him anyway.

Who the hell loved Clinton so much in 1991?

You have to get into office first, then they love you after they see what you do for them.

Kerry will be MORE beloved than Clinton, IMO. Imagine Clinton without personal scandals, that's Kerry.

It's actually quite scary to think of how good he could be.

9. FDR did connect with the average person during the depression
. . .that's why they loved him. At least that's how I remember from history

and there can only be one big dog. (I suspect part of the reason for the nick name is the gifts to Monica. Let's hope we don't have the same problem with Kerry.)

2. I think he will. But...
.. we can't call him Big Dawg -- that title is taken!

Hmmm... how about The Captain, based on his valor as a swift boat commander?

:)

10. He'll have to prove himself first.
Then we'll come up with a name for him. Just like there can only be one JFK there can only be one Big Dog.

16. We'll see
He'll obviously be the leader of the Democratic party, on top of the country, and will no doubt try to reshape the party in his image.

In 4 years, if he can pass major progressive legislation (healthcare), which Clinton was rarely able to do, he will easily replace the "Big Dog."

Clinton, let's be honest, was dogged by too many scandals that required too much of his energy. He wasn't able to do 25% of what he wanted.

And Kerry has more vision. Clinton was... sort of just trying to survive.

I have alot of faith in Kerry.
