TAKE FOOD & DRINK TO LONG VOTING LINES...TURN IT INTO A PARTY!
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 12:07 PM by jansu
THE REPUBLICANS ARE PLANNING ON CHALLENGING EVERY VOTER THEY CAN.....WHICH THEY HOPE WILL MAKE THE WAIT TO VOTE INTOLERABLE AND PEOPLE WILL LEAVE.

THE BEST THING THAT WE LITTLE PEOPLE CAN DO IS TO MAKE OR BUY SANDWICH'S, DONUTS, COOKIES, CRACKERS AND CHEESE, SMALL BOTTLES OF WATER & HOT COFFE AND GIVE IT TO THOSE IN THOSE LONG LINES......WITH A SMILE AND A THANK YOU FOR VOTING! BRING GOOD CHEER AND MAKE IT A PARTY, TO BE ENJOYED! DON'T FORGET THE MUSIC.

BRING CHAIRS FOR ELDERLY TO SIT ON. ASK YOUR SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES TO HELP DONATE THE USE OF THEIRS AND HELP SET IT UP. THEY ARE A GOOD PLACE TO GET THE PEOPLE POWER TO HELP IN THOSE AREAS WHERE IT IS REALLY BIG TURNOUT!

SIGNS FOR THOSE DRIVING UP WHICH MAKES THEM WANT TO STAY AND PARTY AND VOTE! MANY WILL SEE THOSE LONG LINES AND LEAVE. DEMOCRAT'S WIN WHEN THE VOTING IS HIGH, REPUBLICAN'S WIN IF THEY CAN SUPPRESS THE VOTE! LET'S GO THE EXTRA STEP AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE DEFEATED!

THIS WILL DEFEAT THEM! AND WHEN POLLS HAVE TO STAY OPEN INTO THE EARLY MORNINGS, THE NEWS WILL BE COVERING THE NASTY DEALINGS OF THE REPUBLICANS!

HELP ME GET THIS IDEA OFF THE GROUND! I AND MY FAMILY ARE DOING IT IN SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA. I AM GOING TO CALL THE NEWS TO GET IT COVERED AND HOPEFULLY OTHERS WILL TAKE UP THE CALL!

WE MUST BEAT THEM AT THEIR GAME!

THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE IN GETTING THIS IDEA OUT!

PLEASE ADD YOUR IDEAS OF WHAT MORE WE COULD DO! THIS IS JUST A STARTING PLACE!

IF YOU DO THIS OR SEE IT BEING DONE AT YOUR POLLING PLACE, NOTIFY THE NEWS MEDIA AND MAYBE OTHERS WILL SEE IT AND JOIN IN. PASS THIS IDEA ON!

ps i am not shouting, can only type with one hand and using capitals makes it easier.

4. Clear it with the poll workers first, though!
(as I replied in the other thread)

You don't want to be accused of electioneering at a polling place. According to Republicans outside the Reality-Based Community, handing out water is the equivalent of buying votes!

5. GOOD POINT! DON'T TALK POLITICS, NO POLITICAL BUTTONS OR SIGNS!
I HOPE THAT EVERYONE READS THE FIRST PART, WHICH SAYS WE ARE TO SMILE, HAVE FUN AND SAY THANK YOU FOR VOTING! THAT'S ALL! DO NOT EVEN WEAR A BUTTON OR HAVE ANY SIGN WHICH SAYS WHO YOU ARE VOTING FOR AND DON'T TALK POLITICS! BUT I WOULD BE WILLING TO BE ARRESTED FOR GIVING OUT FOOD AND DRINK. ISN'T THIS WHAT JESUS WOULD DO?

WE ARE THE PARTY WHICH BELIEVES IN OUR REPUBLIC AND THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE THEIR VOTE CAST AND COUNTED!

orange juice and tropical punch to chill and take to long lines.

We've got to keep people from dropping out of line, and if low energy and fatigue become a problem, the orange juice should help with that.

16. Bless you for doing that.
Have you targeted where you will find the longest lines?

What state are you in?

I'm in Texas, where our Presidential vote may not matter as much, but by God, our Congressional and State House races really, really do.

9. Won't be a long line where I vote
Polls in NJ open at 6am, and that's when I plan to be at my polling site. Won't be more than 2-3 people in front of me when I get there.

11. TRY TO GO BACK ON YOUR LUNCH HOUR & TAKE SOMETHING TO THE VOTERS!
IF YOU CAN DO THIS, IT WILL HELP OUT. I'VE WATCHED A FEW PLACES WHERE THERE ARE MANY OLDER PEOPLE STANDING IN LINES FOR A LONG TIME TO VOTE AND I JUST WISHED SOMEONE HAD TAKEN SOME CHAIRS FOR THEM AND A DRINK AND SOME FOOD. THIS IS A TIME TO DO MORE THAN JUST VOTE....LET'S HELP OTHERS!

15. No problem....
Please go ahead and use all caps...I can certainly understand how it would be easier. As for the undecided, it absolutely amazes me how any one could still be undecided. However, I just spoke to one of our neighbors and she said her husband is still not sure....????? I told her I would send her some information and perhaps it might help make up his mind.

Once again...really liked your idea.

17. I just wish I had a couple of extra wheel chairs
to offer older people so they can sit without having to get up and move their chairs constantly.

If you have one left over from something, consider taking it to the polls.
