Wal-Mart declines to sell Carlin's book
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/books/10/29/books.carlin.reut/index.html

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, is refusing to sell comedian George Carlin's best-selling new book, "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops," in its stores because its cover makes fun of the "Last Supper," a spokesman for Carlin said Thursday.

But Wal-Mart spokeswoman Karen Burk said the book was not being stocked in Wal-Mart stores because the company felt it "would not appeal to a majority of our customers." She added Wal-Mart was selling the book online.

Burk said 3,500 copies of the book sent mistakenly to Wal-Mart stores had been returned to a distributor because they were not ordered.

Carlin spokesman Jeff Abraham said Wal-Mart did not like the book's cover that shows the comedian in the setting of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper," sitting next to an empty chair where Jesus sits in the painting.

That, and they have refused to sell Jon Stewart's new book of a humorous look on democracy in America.

1. XMAS Boycott for Wally World!
Buy your Xmas stuff somewhere else and get a friend to shop elsewhere. Hit 'em where it hurts.

2. Jon Stewart's book is absolutely hilarious, by the way!
It's especially funny if you know your American history and government -- otherwise, half the jokes will fly right by! In other words, Bush* wouldn't like it, mainly because he wouldn't get it! :D

Saw 'em both prominently displayed last night.

Found this part interesting, though:

Draw your own conclusions....
