I have solid proof that the polls in Ohio are inaccurate. |

I've been called at least four times, and each time, I've either screened the call or was not home.
'Nuff said.

7. What the poster is saying is that there's non-response bias |
|
people who screen their calls are different in significant ways from people who pick up their phones when any old person calls them. Or in addition that people who are likely to be home during the time that pollsters call are different. Therefore, you're not getting a repesentative sample.
This is stats 101.

on Countdown last night, Keith basically said the polls are meaningless at this point, and a grpahic came up that showed that in 1960, around 70% of those polled responded, and this year, I forget the exact number, but it was around a third of that (20-25%). Basically, most of the people responding to polls are bored and lonely.

10. Yep, polls don't account for the Jerry Springer factor |
|
Bush supporters are home watching Jerry Springer, while others are out there trying to make a living.

How was that different from 9 million other 'insulting' statements that get tossed out at repubs every day at DU?

12. You're doing better than me. I've never been called by a pollster. |

The only "real" polls I've taken have been online Zogby polls, and I signed up for those.

15. Plus I've always believed the the average Repug is on his |
|
couch watching Fox, while the average Dem is out washing his car, or taking his kids to the park, or mowing his lawn, or visiting a museum, or jogging in the park, or...(well, you get the idea).

16. The solid proof is that they |
|
are always wrong. Gore was losing going into Election day 2000, by as many as 8-10 points. he won by 500,000+ votes.
