8. there was a 'confetti malfunction"

at a speech today...he was supposed to say "god bless" and then it would go off..he said "god bless" to someone but it wasnt' the end and it went off about 5 minutes too early...

because of a miscue. Dubya wasn't supposed to say "God Bless" until the end at which point a confetti cannon was supposed to go off.

Dubya, fortunately or unfortunately depending upon your point of view, forgot, and somebody dutifully fired off the cannon.

11. Oh, that whole piece was great.

First, Schilling cancels. Turns out he didn't want to tarnish his World Series win by involving politics in it.

Second, protesters show up with an 386 TONS sign. One of them announces to the cameras, "I'm a Republican voting for John Kerry."

Third, the confetti goes off at an extremely inappropriate moment in Bush's speech. Remember "WHERE ARE THE FUCKING BALLOONS"? :D
