It means this state is really in play not only based on the public polls but the internals as well. I mean Al Gore and Dick Cheney flying at least 6 hours each to be here the last weekend of the campaign. WTF Hawaiians? Let's bury this thing.

In playing with the electoral map, I see multiple situations where Hawaii could be making the call on who the next President is.

3. Cheney is just using Hawaii as a springboard for his flight to Pitcairn
Island after Nov. 2.

4. It's easier to get where Cheney wants to go from Hawaii
To a country that doesn't have extradition, of course.

5. Too many undecideds
Internals probably show too many undecideds. Cheney is going there as Hawaii is a last ditch effort. Gore is going there to make sure Cheney has little to no effect.

If Hawaii was really in play, Edwards would be on his way.

6. No neither party is taking it seriously
If Kerry thought he was going to lose HI he would go there, hell he is not even sending Edwards. And if Bush camp thought they had a chance they would not send darth Vader.

8. I disagree. No one EVER comes here to campaign.
Kucinich came during the primaries 1x and wound up doing really well because he actually paid attention to us. It is about a 6 hr. flight from CA to Hawaii - each way. Basically if come here for one day, you are toast to do anything else for the day before and after. Also Alexandra Kerry is coming here as well.

11. It was a great protest.
But the fact he came is why he's way better than anyone expected. I guess we are just starved for attention.

Well, we are going to get it now.

10. Sorry for the ignorance, but this is the first election I've really gotten
involved with..Was Hawaii expected to go to B* without contest? Or is it a democratic state? I don't know.

12. It was considered a lock for Kerry.
Gore won by 18 points in 2000. Both Senators are Dems as well as both our Congressmen.

13. Pearl Harbor
For the ultra paranoid(who may be correct, who knows with these crazies)
Cheney may be safely out of reach and in perfect position for some terror attack on the mainland, maybe one that will take out his raggedy puppet, Dubya.

Farfetched, but it well to consider everything in these Last Days.

Gore should challenge Dick to a surfing contest.

18. It's the religious right that's having the biggest impact here
In early Sept (at a showing of Bush's Brain) a person in-the-know (very active in the Hawaii Democratic party) told me this state was in danger. She explained that the more more conservative churches were almost voting as block. I guess they see this as a way to advance their "social agenda". Thre also semms to be a disproportionate number of undecideds here (12%). I think they will mostly break Democratic.

I suggest you use the info on my "Hawaii Happenings" page to help make the difference.
http://www.independentmediasource.com/hawaii_happenings.htm

Also, my "watch online" video page could help.

Extensive du post here explaining how to use it to sway swing voters - and maybe even some republicans.
