First campaign messages: playing it cool. OBL tape is just one more story

We will see if the message become sterner and more reserved (I hope it will), but after watching Holbrooke and then JFK in that local TV interview it looks like they have decided to treat the tape as just one more bad event in a long series of failures and reminders of failure.

Does that agree with other folk's read on the tone?

ON EDIT: In total fairness, neither candidate has a clue how best to handle it because they don't have a sense of how the press is inclined to handle it. I hate that our nation is run to serve the whims of some powdered prima donnas on TV, but that's just what it is.
