20. That is such strange logic too
If it reminds people of 9/11 (which for me it does, so it will with others) it will make them wonder why the hell that bastard is still alive after the atrocious things he did to us that day. Bad for Bush, anyway you spin it. And they know it.

13. Oh, THAT'S a shock...

Turn off Tweety..

If Chimpy had taken a dump on stage during the debates and flung his feces at Kerry, Tweety would have said it shows how comfortable Chimpy is and how he's unafraid of confrontation...

Gimme a break. You people who pay attention to Tweety have learned NOTHING in the last four years.

These people will stop at nothing. Both Matthews and Abram practically said that the tape amounted to an endorsement of Kerry. The media intends for Bush to win and will help him in any way possible.

15. Bin Laden using reverse psychology...Bin Laden wants Bush
The intimation towards liberal is a hint, but an attempt to get voters to turn from liberals and go towards Bush. Any idiot could see this, but Americans are not just any idiots. It a apparant that Bin Laden is trying to steer the American public towards Bush

16. Doesn't matter whether there's any validity to what Tweety says or not
The fact that he and the rest of the whore media will start hammering that point home will take all the heat off the missing explosives, the FBI probe of Halliburton, and chimpy's sinking approval rating. And as with everything else, once they catch onto a tidbit of anything that they think will help chimpy, that's all they'll talk about for the next 4 days. And, as we all know, there are multitudes of people just stupid enough to buy into it and rally to chimp's support.

24. You got it
The Bush supporters will get all scared and vote the same way they planned to vote. The Kerry voters will believe it's proof that we aren't safer (and we'll be suspicious of the timing, to boot).

The undecideds are the wildcard. I take heart from Zogby saying that the undecideds are a lot of antiwar folk who aren't yet sure of Kerry. I don't think this will win them over.

Are they that FUCKING STUPID or do they just have no shame at all?

"BIN LADEN WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE" - Bush, 2001
"BIN LADEN IS MARGINALIZED, I'M NOT THAT CONCERNED ABOUT HIM" - Bush, 2003
"I'M STILL ALIVE, ASSHOLES!" - Bin Laden, 2004
"THIS HELPS BUSH!" - Tweety, 2004

WTF?!??!

29. Second time I've heard this
Can't remember who the first talking head was.

The reasoning is that since the Iraq war is going so badly, talk of Iraq is good for Kerry (cause Bush is such a fuckup). OTOH, talk of OBL reminds people of 9/11 and that's good for Bush because it reminds people of his (artificially created) 9/11 he-man persona.

More proof we live in la-la-land where the talking heads exist on happy pills.

Where are the talking heads that live in the reality-based community?

30. really?
How did this terrorist 'on the run' manage to smuggle a backdrop high into the mountains to make his little tape? Or his podium?

Answer: he isn't hiding in the high mountains on the border. He escaped a long time ago. This is the only video of him that doesn't show him in a rugged outdoor setting - because that ian't where he is.

Does that help Bush?

By the way, I find it curious that Barbara Starr reported from the Pentagon that officials there have known for days about this tape, and already knew what was on it. Yet we're to believe that Bush was notified only a few hours ago, when it appeared on CNN? Too busy campaigning to keep up on the world most wanted terrorist?

Does that help Bush, Chris?

33. Matthews political instincts are just pitiful. He thought SOTU speech
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 05:37 PM by 2004 Victory
was a "home run" this year -- polls showed it to be a complete failure, and that it ended up hurting Bush.

I could go on and on about Tweety's misjudgments and mistakes. His credibility is very low.

The people who would vote for Bush because he (gag) makes them feel safe, are already voting for him. I don't see a thing in this tape that would make a Kerry supporter or even an Undecided think, Okay now must vote for Bush. There wasn't anything in the OBL speech that pushes that. And seeing his face reminds people that HE'S ALIVE AND BUSH DIDN'T GET HIM. You'd be amazed at the number of Republicans who have sincerely believed that OBL has been dead for two years. This has to shock those people into realizing that Bush didn't get him. Maybe this could turn some Bush voters away.

But, I see it having little affect. Now, the Halliburton scandal, that's another story. This will wake some people up, I think. Too many people believed that Halliburton got no-bid contracts because they were the only company that could do the job. Now they'll see this isn't and wasn't true.

34. It helps Bush with those that support Bush..
.. it helps Kerry with those that support Kerry. If someone is frightened by the OBL tape, and think it means we have to support Bush, then there is an equal number of people who feel that the tape FURTHER proves that OBL is still alive and well, and that Bush failed his MOST important task of his presidency.

...how much it helps Bush if people realize that Osama might very well have those TONS of military grade high explosives his administration failed to secure.

Seriously, everyone e-mail this. We need to make the connection in the minds of the media, can't leave it to THEM to clue in all on their own.

42. Tweety isn't alone.
The assholes on KNX, the CBS radio affiliate in LA, must have repeated twenty times in twenty minutes that this tape "helps the incumbent." No reason. No rational. Just repeated the talking point over and over so that all the sheep stuck in Friday afternoon traffic on the LA freeways and turning to the news station for traffic info heard it plenty. Say something often enough and people will start to believe it.
