People the missing explosive story isn't going away[STOP BEING NEGATIVE]
Lou Dobbs is showing it on CNN after talking about Bin Laden tapes. This is going to add to the insult of Bush. Bin Laden tape isn't pushing it out in the news. Instead it is bringing it to the front of the news.

5. I think you've got a damn good point here
That it intensifies the explosives story, I mean. At least if it's handled that way. Dobbs has been fairly decent on the alQaqaa thing. Hope to see the two stories treated in tandem this way elsewhere.

10. We've got lots of Chicken Littles today...
The CNN radio news brief talked about it for a moment, had Bush and Kerry's statements, then moved on.

DU is acting like it's the end of the election. It's not. NO ONE will be swayed by this to vote for Bush over Kerry. All minds are made up already, you can bet on it.

11. One opinion, but I think that some people were so geared up
for an October surprise that they're letting this tape be bigger than it is. I don't think it's a plus for either campaign.

13. I bet a lot of people were actually quite disappointed
How many Republicans do you think have been getting to sleep at night secure in the thought that Karl Rove had Osama tied up somewhere, or on ice, and would present him before the election to save Chimpy's butt?

If you'd believed that, today's tape would be real letdown, wouldn't it?

12. Exactly!
And Lou did a good job of it. I'm worried that this OBL terror video was planned; that they had the tape and released it at the right time; it is negative for Bush, but right before the election could justify the administration calling out the troops to protect American voters from terrorists, and threaten away potential voters.

14. NPR just squashed the DoD diversionary story
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 05:31 PM by gbwarming
Talked about the Apr 18 video with IAEA seals, Iraqis in pickup trucks roaming the area and bunkers left ungaurded. Then moved on to the DoD breifing and made the correct observation that the Col. didn't describe HMX or RDX in the materials that they removed.

16. Today's scene from "Tommy Boy" press conference...
...that sludge hyped to high heaven blew up in their faces and scattered their four previous stories (1.They were stolen before the war. 2. The russians stole it to save Saddam's *ss. 3. Our boys didn't check for it well enough and maybe missed it. 4. It was never there.) in little pieces on the laps of the media. This story is fun for the media because it's like one of those local news investigative reports on a ripoff business—story reported, denial by target, secret video busting said crooked business, panicked business owner gets angry and lies badly.

They ain't droppin' this one just yet...it's like a raw steak tossed to a chained-up pit bull. :)
