My Theory - OBL was supposed to be the October Surprise and Bush* didn’t pull it off


El Mundo reported OBL was in China - earlier this month. Sounds like the US has been trying to make concessions to China. We’re giving/selling them nuclear reactors, Powell was going around saying there is only one China and it’s NOT Taiwan, Wednesday it was announced that 22 Chinese Muslims are to be released from GItmo. But China has been defending the PLO and OBL may have made a deal with China about controlling the Muslims in China...

Last week (Oct. 13th), the Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported that bin Laden was in China near the borders with Pakistan. British journalist Gordon Thomas wrote that bin Laden made an agreement with Chinese authorities to stop guerrilla war by Chinese Muslims against the government. Beijing however has denied this was true.

The region has been relatively quiet since the time Bin Laden is alleged to have arrived in China.

Oct. 28th - Chinese Muslims Held at Gitmo to Be Freed

WASHINGTON - Defense officials have authorized the release of a majority of the 22 Chinese Muslims being held at the Guantanamo Bay naval base, the State Department said Thursday.

Spokesman Richard Boucher said the Bush administration is seeking to relocate the Uighurs, from northwest China, in a third country because they do not wish to resettle in China.

Speaking in China, on a three-nation trip to Japan, China, and South Korea, earlier this week, the secretary said, 'Our policy is clear, there is only one China. Taiwan is not independent. It does not enjoy sovereignty as a nation, and that remains our policy, our firm policy.

China defending the PLO

Into invading Taiwan, like Bush's dad tricked Saddam Hussein into invading Kuwait.

The idea of China taking the old place of the USSR to try to balance things out - helping out the Middle East, etc. - makes sense to me, though.
