Will there be less division in the country, if there is a clear cut win..
by either Kerry or Bush? The nation is presently as divided as it has been since Vietnam, some people would say more so. If there is a clear cut victory by one or the other, will the people accept it as a statement by the majority? And will it help to heal the divisions?

Will Democrats continue to taunt the inept Bush? Will Repubs pick up where they left off with Clinton in attacking Kerry? What are the odds for our nation coming together, regardless of who wins?

1. If Shrub wins, no -- because those of us on the left will feel cheated
...because the ONLY way he will have won is through lies, trickery, fear-mongering, and outright voter suppression.

If Kerry wins... only maybe, because the wing-nuts may very well do what they did to Clinton and deny the legitimacy of the election (preferring their brownshirted version instead).

2. It won't be "decided" for WEEKS
unless the turnout is unprecedented.

3. The division will not magically heal with a Kerry victory
GW has DAMAGED this country, and I do not know if it can ever be healed.

4. No
I believe that the country is so polarized that neither candidate will be accepted as legitimate, even if there is a landslide. Last time, people might have accepted their fate, but not this time, IMHO.

If Bush is (re) elected, based on historic precedent, he will be impeached.

5. No, if Bush wins
because he governs by dividing...he is THE most devisive Prez of my lifetime.

If Kerry wins, maybe we have a chance. I think he will try his best to pull us together. But will the right-wing nuts undermine him on Day 1? Probably.

It will be up to the majority of people, who are tired of the wars, to come together & do what is best for the country.

6. No, not with what we have passing for "media" nowadays....
There is a formula that most cable-news shows use for nearly every discussion: moderator, conservative, and liberal. All this Jerry Springeresque high-emotion "discourse" helps keep up the division in America.

Also, you have nutcases like Rush and his ilk spewing forth hate on the radio every day, and that's not going away, either.
