Logic vs. Fear (tin-foil hat)

Logically, this tape should help, or at least not harm, Kerry.

After all, this shows he is alive and active. If people remember that * "took his eye off the ball" and went after Iraq, then this should hurt *. But, his campaign is based completely, or at least primarily, on fear - anything that reminds people of fear, might help *.

I hope not -- I hope people are not stupid - I hope people are rational -- and I really, really, really hope the media covers this ethically.

Well, it certainly is an amazing coincidence isn't it? What do you think on this? Are there high fives at the White House?

1. I think the RW is playing the fear card in a desperate way

with this announcement. After all, OBL is Bush's defining force, and Bush is OBL's candidate; it's a symbiotic relationship. I'm hoping and betting the logical message of "Bin Laden is still free, Bush has failed" will prevail, but Rove is certainly counting on the specter of Halloween Osama to crank up the fear level and help his boy with the fringe-voting morans.

2. I think if shrub could bring OBL in

within the next day or so, it could be a go for him. It would really get his base all motivated. But, I don't think it could win him the election...not legally. May make it easier for him to steal.
