3. It's a very big story.
Our troops are getting killed every day. I should think Americans and the families of those serving want to know how the hell this happened.

6. Are they tying it to Osama?
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 05:54 PM by gcomeau
I've been saying this all day, we NEED to tie these two issues together. Nobody in the press appears to have made the connection yet.

We've got TONS of missing explosives that the administration failed to properly secure AND we have confirmation that the terrorist the administration failed to properly pursue is still on the loose and in good health.

And if the two should meet, it's a BIG problem. Courtesy of the Bush administration.

11. If you posit a possible link between Osama and...
...the missing explosives, you also lend backhanded credence to the idea that Saddam and Osama might have been linked.

I think its best to stay away from this one entirely with such a short time to the election.

14. Bull...
You point out in absolutely clear terms that the weapons which were secured by the IAEA and which he never would have gotten his hands on were left unguarded BECAUSE of the war and the incompetent way the Bush administration went into it.

And NOW they could be anywhere. Including under Osama's control.

17. Say "they could be anywhere" and let people make whatever...
...connection they want. It's too late to spin the counterspin if we need to.

there...but now they're probably in the hands of a beaming and perky OBL.

8. That is the best news of the day! Rove must be gulping antacids
and looking for an airplane tire to lay in front of. :nopity:

If Osama can't knock the story they wanna kill off page one, the Christmas goose may be cooked a tad early.

Hey Rumsfeld: Where's the explosives?

...more like choking on chunks of mainstream media ass he's chewed off tonight for daring to go back to the explosives story...which should be mentioned every time we hear about an IED blwoing up one of our kids in Iraq.

10. I knew it!
The media are not in the mood for any funny business. They are, largely, staying on task in covering many different issues. The days of the wailing "red alert! red alert!" have, in the main, passed.

18. The explosives are still the big story.
Not Osama. He's been out there all along; Al Qaeda is still a threat; the fact that he just sent in a tape dopesn't change anything, except that it reminds us of the fact that Bush never caught him. The missing explosives are more important now because we know they are missing only because of Bush's poor planning.

27. The media need to cover the story for what it really means.
They have been so quick to discuss the implications of this story on the election, but have ignored the fact that our troops, Iraqi national guardsmen, and innocents (mostly women and children according to recent reports) are being ripped to pieces by these explosives.

Every time I hear a frigging reporter say that Kerry has "seized" this issue and is "milking" it I want to drive my car into the nearest W-stickered, SOB-operated SUV I can find. The reporters are so damn cynical and jaded they fail to see the story for what it really is--a massive fuck up that is killing human beings and further degrading US influence and authority around the world.

Sheesh.
