CNN said WH tried to quash bin Laden tape
Did you catch that? Kitty Pilgrim reported that the White House asked the embassy of Quttar not to release the bin Laden tape, but the ambassador refused.

Why did the WH want it quashed?

23. Of course it helps Kerry
Bin Laden was, is, and always should be public enemy #1 until he is caught or killed. He murdered over 3000 Americans, and who knows how many more? Quite frankly, if he was caught and/or killed today, it would be a good thing, even though it would likely swing the election towards bush. Bin Laden is a criminal, pure and simple, and he should not be out among civilized people. He is, and it's bush's fault.

7. Because it's proof of Bush's failures. Bin Laden is alive and well and....
... still plotting against us.

And hundreds of tons of powerful explosives are missing... possibly on bin Laden's hands.

8. Because it is the CIA's payback to ol Georgie!
Geez, am I the only one who sees this? OBL makes Bush out to look like the lame duck fool he was on 9/11!! And for anybody who didn't see Michael Moore's movie - NOW they know that Bush just sat there and read a book on 9/11 and DID NOTHING!

Think Valerie Plame - this is PAYBACK.

...it might be part 2 of OBL's payback to Georgie for fucking him out of the family fortune so long ago on the Arbusto deal.

11. Well, the OBL Tape Exposes Bush as a Shit Ass Leader
For his failure to react properly and for giving aid to the enemy while preferring to read "My Pet Goat."

So I would assume the White House would try to suppress the tape.

Maybe this is CYA to distance themselves from any connections to Rove.

Then again maybe they did want it quashed. I don't know what the hell the truth is.

...and Barbara Starr reported that officials have known for days about this tape, and have already analyzed the content.

Yet Bush was only told today? Too busy campaigning?

Of course they didn't want that tape to come out. Fuck the media spin. The truth is that Osama mocking Bush for reading about a goat while people are being killed just emphasizes what a hopeless fuck-up he is.

17. Remember!
March 13, 2004 - White House Press Conference - 4pm

. . . And he's just -- he's a person who's now been marginalized. His network, his host government has been destroyed. He's the ultimate parasite who found weakness, exploited it, and met his match. He is -- as I mentioned in my speech, I do mention the fact that this is a fellow who is willing to commit youngsters to their death and he, himself, tries to hide -- if, in fact, he's hiding at all.

So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you. I'm more worried about making sure that our soldiers are well-supplied; that the strategy is clear; that the coalition is strong; that when we find enemy bunched up like we did in Shahikot Mountains, that the military has all the support it needs to go in and do the job, which they did.

. . .

Q But don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

Then he should hammer them on the fact that they are trying to create a dictator ship here by hiding things from the American public.

24. This is why
"It appeared to him (Bush) that a little girl's talk about her goat and its butting was more important than the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers. That gave us three times the required time to carry out the operations, thank God," he said.

isn't that what they used to say about this sort of tape? guess they don't care anymore.

Seriously, they've said over and over that Usama is not a worry anymore. Can you imagine how they felt when he came forward in person after so long and mentioned My Pet Goat? Bush must have impoded!

Bush thinks the tape is not good for Bush! Somebody clue in the media before they play it enough to influence the election! (hey, wasn't Bush supposed to kill that guy? And there he is!)

This tape is not good for Bush.

31. because unlike what the corporate American whore media whore want ...
the sheep to believe this tape destroys shrub on terror and Bin Laden. Why is this fucker still alive? Why does he look so healthy as if living a grand lifestyle? Why did shrub look visibly shaken during his comments on the airport tarmac? The reason is because of shrub's complete fuck up of the war on terror and the diversion that is Iraq.

Now go out there and start slapping around these other fellow chickenshit DUers that have been posting nonsense in the last hour. If I do it I will go to far even though it's the right thing to do!

But remember, the threat of another 9/11 plays right into the president's hands...who would want to change CIC when this may be hanging over our heads? remember the President is up like 20 points on the "who would handle the war on terror better" polls.
