OBL tapes are turning into a referendum on Bush's record
A few hours after the release of these tapes, we are now seeing the story turn into "why is OBL not captured?".

24. FIGHT BACK MEME: OSAMA NOT YET CAUGHT BECAUSE OF IRAQ DIVERSION!!
Sharpton was just on CNN with this and it was very effective argument it seems to me.

The Republican was dumbfounded by it and it changed the whole direction of the show.

When Paula Zahn came back with the Bush party line, Sharpton simply repeated it and made her question about this making new voters go Bush seem irrelevant.

OBL is still alive because Bush took his eye off the ball and we invaded Iraq.

Repeat this 50 times a day until Tuesday Night.

Thank You.

26. Sharpton is the *man*
Before I read his book, "Al on America" I was pretty apolitical. He got me *into* this game.

P.S. I know some people don't like him, *cough*tweety*cough*, so don't bother reminding me.

6. The more I think about it, the more I think this is the final blow for W.
If you're already a Bush kool-aid drinker, then you'll swoon with fear and fall at the feet of W, trembling and begging him to protect you.

But if you're undecided, isn't this just going to piss you off?

It's been 3 years, 2 wars, 200 billion dollars, 1100 dead American soldiers, and... there he is, healthy, relaxed, not afraid, not hiding in a cave, not dirty.

Untouched.

There's no way this plays well with the undecideds. Osama combined with the latest round of Bush scandals -- al Qaqaa, Halliburton contracts -- just makes you wish for new president.

And what a surprise! It's time to choose one.

Bush is toast.

8. It always happens this way
A bunch of lightweights like Tweety get on tv yakking a bs line and then a bunch of other lightweights jump in the middle of the circle jerk. Then a few hours pass and people start to actually do some thinking and someone says "hey, wait a minute here..." Paula Zahn is right on this one, this reminds people that Bush is a failure. The war on terror is a failure. And also, one of our "so called allies" has been harboring bin laden, giving him state of the art medical care and shielding him from capture.

9. Here is the proof that is true, print it and photocopy it,
hand them out or put them on car windshields.

Go to http://somnamblst.tripod.com to download high resolution TIF or PDF file to print.

In light of the OBL tape AND the OBL lie from the third debate the flyer below is particularly apropo for the final push. What more proof do we need that the Army War College was correct when they said the Irag War is "a strategic error of the first order".

16. SPIN IT BACK
Cheney said the other day that if John Kerry had his way, Saddam Hussein would still have these weapons -- and of course, the weapons would still be under UN lock and key.

Well, Bush GOT his way and now that we have PROOF that OBL is alive, the explosives may be in OSAMA's hands.

So is Bush saying it is better for Osama to have the explosives and be on the run where he can kill Americans than it is for Saddam to have the explosives and have them constantly being monitored by the U.N.?

33. I have to agree that this last week has been the final blow to chimpy
I have a friend who can vote for the first time and he had been undecided. He really didn't like either candidate, but what happened the past week finally pushed him over the edge - he's going to vote for Kerry. He believes that responsibility is needed for the missing explosives and I'm sure he's pissed off about the fact that bin Laden hasn't been caught (I haven't spoken to him since early friday). So there's the facts - undecideds WILL see this as a major problem for Bush.

worded slightly differently.....

Who will gain the most politically from Osama bin Laden's taped message to the American people, President Bush or Sen. John Kerry?

Kerry: 62.78%

Shrub: 21.43%

No advantage for either man: 15.79%
